I was about to print out my Greyhawk PDF (12th printing) when I noticed that there are a few blank pages at the end. Can someone look at their original and tell me what the last four pages are?

It's surviving! I was someone that missed when it was initially published, but I payed its spin-off, 1ed GW, extensively in my youth. I recently rediscovered MA and I have to say that it is a brilliant RPG. It's a game that I would definitely rope a group of players in to doing in the future.

Nice summary, Ways. [opinion] I think that there is a huge plus for Fighting-Men that a lot of folks miss when they start looking at pure game mechanics and the allure of the abilities of other classes, and that's the in-game role-playing aspect. If I'm a Fighter, I'm pretty much free to do whatever the feck I want. But (depending on the particular campaign), there are usually certain expectations of role-players from the rest of the group when it comes to Clerics and Magic-Users (and even the Fighter sub-classes): Religious observances/limitations/tithes for Clerics and Paladins, constant study/spell-research/expenses (and perhaps a degree of master-dependence to go along with that) for Magic-Users, Clerics healing/curing other party members, use of detection/informational spells, etc. The only real expectation for Fighting-Men is... fighting. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy playing Clerics and Magic-Users just as much as the next gamer, but sometimes there's just something liberating about playing a Fighter. I don't know. My 2 c.p. anyway. [/opinion]

powered armor and gamma rays, or rampaging dino-riders, or sorcerers running around being dicks, or whatever. Ummm... you don't have all of that in your Carcosa game already?

Well, inspired by this thread, I decided over the last couple of days to throw the Zothique stories (plus one poem and one play) into one document (from the eldritchdark site Geoffrey mentions) and converted it to PDF. Except for the title page, it's all Times New Roman 12pt, fully justified, formatted, and spell-checked (well, to the best of Word's ability considering the archaic nature of CAS's prose). The document size is 6"x9" (digest, baby!). Anyway, thought I'd share. ;D (let me know if the link doesn't work )

Grain is the direction in which most of the paper fibers lie following manufacture. Paper (and cardstock) folds much more nicely along the grain. When folding against the grain, there is more resistance to the fold; the folded edge is uneven and the paper is likely to crack/tear along the fold.
Most cheap commercial stock has the grain running parallel to the long edge, making it less cooperative when folding a 8.5"x11" sheet in half to form 8.5"x5.5" booklets.

Oh, that's gold Tom! Geoffrey, you're toast! ;D Actually, very cool. I notice that his response about inclusions is identical to the Q&A in the Carcosan Grimoire.

You had best call it, "Sir"... ;D
My vote is for Gothrog if this is going to be a publicly available item. You'd probably need to get Matt's permission to use Baalroch (unless he considers it OGC).

Not too off topic, but I was reading 1ed Gamma World today and the section on dice conventions really had me yearning for those twenty-sided d10's I used to have. I'm fairly certain that that section of the GW rule book is what opened my eyes to all of the potential dice-possibilities in RPG's.

I don't think I ever quite understood the whole, "I'm a Lovecraft fan, but I only like A. B sucks." viewpoint. I suppose it's just a matter of personal taste, but I love everything Lovecraft. Even Sweet Ermengarde (it's short and kind of lame, but I chuckled all the way through it). I recently picked up this and I'm absolutely loving it. It was $20 at my local B&N, and I verified it was the 2nd printing before purchase. The only draw-back is that it doesn't have his poetry, but those are easy enough to obtain. I highly recommend it. Oh, and it has all of the Dream Cycle stories.

Thanks, Jim!
That's not too too bad... that should be about $95 US for both then (item cost + 2nd class shipping).
Wellp. Looks like that's my entire Christmas list right there. ;D

@jim - Will you be putting them up for pre-order before the holidays? Also, any ball-park guess on shipping cost to the US (Boston-ish) if I ordered both at once?

Hmmmm. Interesting, actually. I always felt that Sorcerers were somewhat overpowered compared to Fighters, so I assumed that the benefits explicitly defined for Fighters applied only to Fighters in Carcosa.
I understand that Sorcerers have to earn more XP and that they potentially suffer from aging (or a short life depending on what they conjure, etc.); however, I've always felt that the Fighter class should have abilities as equally appealing as the allure of the Sorcerer class abilities. Hence my assumption that Sorcerers were not as well endowed as Fighters.
(I only harp on it because I'm working on an interpretation of Carcosa for myselfr for S&W Whitebox. In it I identify the Sorcerer as a distinct class, but I also give more definition to the Fighter class by adding Strength and Dexterity bonuses, and multiple attacks as Fighter-only benefits. ;D)

Sorcerers also don't get the Fighting-Man's multiple attacks (and Strength and AC bonus if using Supp.I) I presume.

That is a pretty sweet take on the traditional D&D Clerical-Divinity relationship. I've heard so many great things about ASE1; I really need to look into it.

Going with CoC is always a good bet in my book. Despite quite a few folks' opinions on I6, it makes an excellent dungeon adventure if you ignore all of the story/railroad elements of it. Definitely a good 10/31 choice if you go that route.
