If I was single and unemployed....but I'm not. I've just started a new Delving Deeper campaign and I can't see myself looking at anything else for...yonks.

My RQ1 seems very similar to my RQ2 except it's stapled rather than perfect bound and has some of the errata fixed. I don't like to open it too often though as bits fall out of it every time I do.

Simon will have the answers of course but here's my tuppence worth. 1. I'm sure there's only one more in combat so the elf could, for example, move 60-feet, fire, then move the remainder of his or her movement allowance. 2. If an heroic monster or hero opts for multiple attacks as a first level or one hit die creature it loses any damage modifier too so the referee does have some tactical considerations to make. 3. I would say it depends on which target or targets the attacker chooses to focus on; if the opponent is heroic - just one attack. Thanks Mike

My understanding of the GP = XP justification is: more the greater the challenge, the greater the GP reward. I've got no problem with that. My only issue is what happens to the gold once you haul it out of the dungeon.
In the early days I never gave it a moment's thought and was happy to imagine the characters reclining in vast pools of gold and gems; then, one day one of my players asked how the local economy was coping with a handful of reprobates having more disposable cash than the duke. They bought up all the local property and the housing market collapsed. Happens all the time in Western Australia.

Holden's crew in the book are just like a band of Classic Traveller characters. Just check out the scene where they're going over the Martian ship that's just become their "legitimate salvage".

The TV show was a great production. Had it stayed closer to the book it would have been even better. Room for improvement in series 2.

Every now and then I pick up the 5E PHB at the local store, flip through it's shiny pages; then shudder and return it to the shelf.
Far too many...words...

I don't have the original but from what I've seen, I think the changes involved unifying the roll-under mechanic so that it applies to saves and combat.
It's so cheap it would be crazy not to grab a copy.
For my tastes it cuts too many corners on the rules and overloads the background. I prefer to add my own settings to games - which you can do with this but that would waste half the book.

I know many prefer hardcovers, so I may be standing alone on this one. I like to be able to (gently) fold my books and stuff them into my lunch box or daypack. The only thing I prefer hardbacks in are reference books that sit on my shelf and get dusty until I need them. Typically, I find softcovers 25-30% cheaper then hardcovers. It varies by the publisher and how they structure their pricing, though. I'd most likely buy the softcover with pdf, if that matters any. Overall, I'm more interested in what you have developed through your research of Blackmoor and Dalluhn. So, I'm not likely to actually use it in play, at least whole cloth. That makes it harder for me to justify the purchase. But, I'll probably pick it up at some point even if you don't do a softcover. Hard covers are great if the binding is stitched and glued. If it's just glued or "perfect bound" it actually has a shorter life expectancy than the same paperback as the rigid cover and spine puts additional stress on the binding.

Aldarron, can you expand on "treasure as prize"?
I've been giving XP for "trophy" treasures rather than gold pieces - I thought it was my invention until I stumbled across it in Lamentations... Is Prize treasure similar?

It's available but the preview doesn't give much away.
Any owners of the book care to comment on the pros and cons?
Many thanks

X-Plorers and Rogue Space work for me I like X-Plorers - although it seems to have been abandoned by designer and publisher - but some of the "skill" choices for the classes are difficult for me to reconcile. I don't think I know what Rogue Space is? Where can I learn more? Thanks
