Hi, I've created a free supplement for the original edition of DnD, which contain tools that allow the adventure to be transfered to a new dimension of space travel, combat and exploration. These additional materials were created with a thought on settings heavily based in Science Fiction and Science Fantasy genres than most of the materials created for OD&D so far (AFAIK ; ) ). PDF is available for download via box on terminalspace.blogspot.comEnjoy! Any feedback will be appreciated :-)

It looks pretty impressive from a quick skim before bed. It looks like I'll have to take a better look in the morning, but I have to say I love the interior art, and random sector generator so far. Very coo, stuff.

I read it over last night and I have to say I'm impressed. The picture of the spaceman fighting the beholders was pure inspiration. I've often thought many D&D monsters could also pass as sci-fi/alien monsters. And the deep space encounter table is a great resource for almost any sci-fi game. Great work.

I'll heartily second how awesome that beholder pic was. Haven't had time to read through too much yet, but what I did read I've liked. Very inspirational stuff!

I especially like the spaceship construction rules -- kind of like a distillation of Traveller Book 5: High Guard. (The only way to make such a thing playable, as far as I'm concerned!)
Like the others, I've only skimmed so far, but I'm looking forward to reading it in detail.
Have an exalt for a fine piece of work!

OK, I've made a more complete reading and I am surprised at how little buzz this seems to be generating on this board. This is a really cool project. I love how seamlessly TS could fit into a OD&D game. I can definitely see using it to bridge Blackmoore, Carcosa, Athanor, or maybe even Barsoom.
There are a lot of places in the book that I am reminded of Battle Tech, and particularly the Explorer Corps, and Periphery books. Were these sources of inspiration, or am I just projecting my favorite space setting game into TS terms?
The Men and Magic section is simply inspiring. The tech attribute is a brilliant idea I wish I had had. I like how the skills are not the domain of a particular class (even if they are a bit difficult to use for other classes.) The equipement list is pretty extensive, and I apreciate how the rules for the advanced rules are given as ideas rather then rules, making them as unobtrusive as the DM wants them to be. Exploration XP is a nice touch as well. Great job.
The artifact section is probably my favorite part of the book. Most of the items were right up my ally. I can see dropping nearly any of these into a game. I also loved the treasure chart. It looks much easier to use then the standard one, and might just replace it in my games. As for the monster descriptions, they look adequate.
I can see hours of gaming resulting from the underworld section. I've gotten some good adventures out of similar tables in my Mechwarrior games for years. I am very happy to see these in OD&D.
The Shipyard section looks a bit complex for my tastes, but very serviceable. The only thing I would have liked added was maybe a few prebuilt ships.
Questions: What saving throws do the new classes use?
Are all of the new classes supposed to have Dex as their Prime Requisite? I can see the Pilot, but Int or Wis seems more appropriate for Scientists and Technicians.
Why do Fighting Men have such low Weapons? I would think that FM's used to represent marine types would be more skilled at targeting. The Weapons System scores seem pretty low as is.
I definitely plan to print this one off and bind it for my collection.

The main assumption of the Weapons skill was that it determined the characters ability to use complicated Weapon Systems of a space fahring vessel where Technicians are likely to be better than Fighters. Anyway you can adjust the skills value for your own needs.

I noticed the technological weapons didn't have damage ratings listed. I'm guessing this is because you assume each DM will assign damage ratings to suit their individual campaigns. May I ask though, how you handled damage for these weapons in your test games? I read where one of the suggestions for advanced weapons is to roll more dice, keeping the highest one. Is this what you did in your games? Just curious. Thanks.

Printed off two copies in booklet format, and got two color laserprint covers. After assembly, some playtesting and reviewing!
First impression - looks good, similar to X-Plorers!

I just looked it over and I like the additions, especially some of the new spells. I think the Anti-Gravity spell would be a good addition for any D&D campaign, not just for a science-fantasy themed one. Great work.

My post from Dragonsfoot: Really impressive body of work here. I especially like the ship-sized monsters ;D I had a Supplement V in the works, but Carcosa came out first, so there you have it. Ironically, most of what would've been in my supplement was in Carcosa anyway I like the idea of calling it Supplement VII. It should be a first come, first claim situation.

I am looking forward to checking this out, but for some reason, my computer won't deal with the Box widget download. Is there any other way to obtain the file?
Thanks,
Craig

Hmm, this could be fun: I've always wanted to try an outer space D&D game.
Trouble is, it won't download. It's telling me to "please wait". I'm using a Mac. Does the download need to be from a Windows PC?
thanks keith

Downloaded using Firefox without a hitch. Strange that it wouldn't in Safari.
Anyway, cool. Looking forward to reading this.

I would love to take a look at this but that download box just doesn't like me, it says the book is downloading but... it never happens. Can I get a copy from anywhere else?
Cheers
Edit: apologies folks, I just read through the rest of the posts and my browser is Safari so I'll switch to Mozilla to grab this file.

I've got to say I'm impressed as all hell with the amount of work that's been squeezed into such a fantastic little book. Why is this not getting more blog coverage?

In all honestly, because its free. I'll been using bits of it for my Carcosa game and am piece-mealing it for a setting I've been working on.
