Shade fires both barrels of the Howdah gun and communicates the command to everyone else, as well. **Fire everything you have, for they will not stop!** Shade fires with both barrels: 4, 3, 4, 7, 3, 9 and hits 2 cannibals for 1 and 2hp respectively, not a serious wound but enough to stagger them for the round. (cannibal count: 15) His Deep One fires with both barrels: 4, 7 and hits once for a grazing 1hp shot-wound. (14) The 3 Quarry Brothers heed the mental command and fire with both barrels: 4, 7, 3, 9, 5, 11... 3 hits for 9, 12, 5hp killing 3 cannibals! (11) Minion spends the round reloading 1 of 2 barrels. His 4 bone men do the same.

Fated: "Fire again boys, mop this rabble up." Fated's howdah pistol is fully loaded. His 5 ulfire men have fired both rounds. They can reload at the rate of 1 barrel per round if you so command, or take other action.

Everyone continues attacking (with Howdah if possible, or reloading if empty, or with melee weapon if engaged). Breath and her two bodyguards will hold defensive position, they don't want to be overrun by the swarm. Gunnery will switch to a howdah this round instead of the radio beam turret. Breath and her henchwomen reloaded their howdahs on the previous defensive round, everyone is now fully loaded except Serpent's Scion who has 1 loaded barrel. Dream Stalker also has a glitter cannon in addition to her loaded howdah gun. They await your command to fire. Gunnery fires both barrels (he gets +1 for Dexterity): 8, 8, 9, 9... 18 and 10hp, killing two of the larger cannibals outright! (9) His 3 orange men spend the round reloading 1 of 2 barrels.

Sorry, yeah, if possible, Andre will attempt to sever about 50% of one of the cannibals with a bite.

Andre rolls: 1, 3, 4, 1, 3, 3 and misses!
[This is an example of how important armor is in Chainmail; if the cannibals were light foot instead of armored, Andre would hit on 4+ instead of 6+.]
Any other dinosaur mayhem or PC/NPC actions for this round?

Round 3 of the Cannibal Battle
The 9 brown cannibals concentrate their pike attack on Andre, the only 'Saurus brave enough to melee with them this round. They roll (9 cannibals * 2 hit dice + 9 for their pikes) / (AF vs. MH = 1 die/2 men, 6 hits) = 13 dice:
2 + 6 + 6 + 6 + 3 + 4 + 5 + 4 + 6 + 4 + 1 + 5 + 3
Andre is struck 4 times for 4d8=22hp, reducing him to 23hp.
Your turn!

Fated hares off after the leader who is pooping himself and attacks with intent to capture, like directing Snarf to pin him with his jaws or something.

Everyone fires howdahs!! (Except Breath and her two bodyguards, who are on foot and continue to hold). Big Mama continues her rampage.

OOC: I thought big momma was in melee, as well...
Shade and his minion reload. He directs anyone and anything who will listen (and is on our side) to attack. Would rather not see this go on another round...
Andre attacks again.

Fated hares off after the leader who is pooping himself and attacks with intent to capture, like directing Snarf to pin him with his jaws or something. In the jaws of the mutant velociraptor, Sgt. Cannibal discovers a new definition of insanity! (Call of Cthulhu 3rd Edition Insanity Table) He becomes completely AMNESIAC and ceases to struggle. "Who am I? Why am I here?" The remaining cannibals must make another morale check at -2 and roll 4-2=2. They are disheartened and flee, dragging their wounded (but abandoning their sergeant).

Andre (6, 5, 4, 2, 1, 1) and Big Mama (6, 5, 5, 5, 4, 1) rampage to and fro, crushing wounded cannibals as they try to flee.
The howdah gunners set their sights, and their demoralized targets surrender and throw down their arms! The party captures (2d) 11 brown man prisoners at gunpoint! Will you execute them or show mercy?
The carnivores Andre and Snarf drool over the dead. Will you allow them to gorge on maneater-flesh?

The cannibals carry no wealth save their seashell plate armor and their pikes. The Seargeant wears a rough amethyst on a silver chain worth 400sp total.

(Unless any of you suggest otherwise...)
Minion's bone men and [green]the Quarry brothers[/green] upgrade to plate and pikes. They look a formidable small army!
[orange]Gunnery[/orange] decides not to upgrade his sniper squad to heavy armor, opting for mobility.

To Andre, Shade commands, **Feast on the dead - and only the dead - but feast to your heart's content.**
Shade then retrieves Sergeant Cannibal from the jaws of the velociraptor. He towers over him in his most fearsome pose possible and communicates, **You were the leader of a hundred men. And you were beaten by a handful. Kneel. Kneel before me and pledge to serve me faithfully and I will spare your life. I may even spare the lives of your remaining ten men...**
Shade stops, looks over at the eleven browns standing together in a huddle, then looks over at his Deep One minion and communicates, **Shade is never wrong. Make sure of it.** then points to the brown that appears to be most heavily wounded... He waits for the Deep One minion to kill the eleventh brown before continuing.
**...ten men... If they agree to follow me, as well, under your command.**
(Shade spends a language slot to learn Brown.)

After gathering our wounded together, Princess will use her healing spores. Best to make sure the cannibals are out of range though! (The unwounded can guard them).

After gathering our wounded together, Princess will use her healing spores. Best to make sure the cannibals are out of range though! (The unwounded can guard them). Princess's healing spores are a balm for the wounded 'sauruses. But no healing arts can save poor Junior, who succumbs to a dozen pike wounds. He was a good dinosaur, a veteran of many battles, who faced death before in the titanocobra battle and served loyally. Now there is the question of which dinosaur will be the new steed for Breath and her bone women? There is also the delicate subject of the bone-cursed dinosaur's remains. What happens to a bone-creature's transparent flesh when it dies? Also Junior wears heavy barding that may be fitted to another dinosaur if you wish.

Shade uses his Sense Motive to judge the sincerity of the response from Sergeant Cannibal and the ten remaining browns... Shade rolls 4 on his Sense Motive check. Unfortunately until he levels up in the morning and gets a bonus point, his skill is stuck at 3. So I will roll the dice secretly on the cannibal's reaction check...

If they agree to follow me, as well, under your command.**(Shade spends a language slot to learn Brown.)The cannibals lick their lips in delight as the Deep One guts the unlucky 11th man, spilling his tasty kidneys, juicy liver, and prized entrails. Sgt. Cannibal throws down his lord's banner in surrender (but he does not kneel). He grinds the Constant Tyrant's coat-of-arms, depicting a jousting king crab on a field of seaweed, into the mud with his boot and spits loudly on his former master's sigil to prove his point. "I will listen to your offer, strange dinosaur riding man," he replies in Brown, a language known to Shade from his past-life cosmic-collective subconsciousness. Andre gorges on man-flesh, winning the instant approval of the cannibals. Their reaction is neutral. Shade has not successfully recruited any of them as loyal henchmen, but they are willing to negotiate mutually-agreeable terms as mercenaries or somesuch. Or at least, such is the situation as it appears on the surface, Shade having failed his Sense Motive check and all...

Shade makes sure Andre is near the Princess when she uses her healing powers.
Shade stares at the Sgt. Cannibal through the eye slits of his helmet for a silent moment. Finally, he communicates, **Very well. Here are my terms for you and your nine soldiers...**
Without looking away, he contacts only his Deep One minion, **One more, my servant. Select the short one with the cocky smile nearest the one you just killed.** Hopefully his right hand man (lol) enjoys his role in this style of "negotiation".
**You work for me without question and I let you live. As long as you are productive, you also receive 15% of my share of future wealth to divide among you and your men as you see fit. You and your men can also have the choice cuts from the dead, as long as they are not of our party.**
He pauses to let them think about the generosity of the offer. Then, with a flash of brilliance, he looks at the nine remaining browns and points at the two recently slain ones, **Enjoy my gift to you.** Then he turns back to the Sgt. Cannibal.
**I am a fair lord to those loyal to me. But understand that any infidelities will be dealt with in the most severe way. If these terms are not agreeable to you, we will deliver you back to the Constant Tyrant.**
He pauses.
**We need to speak with him about retribution for our slain dinosaur, anyway.**

Now... tell me more about Constant Tyrant.**

Sgt. Cannibal's eyes pop with delight as Deep 1 guts another of his men.
"... and meat for my men! We have a deal!" He sucker-punches the plumpest of his remaining nine eight men and snaps the surprised man's neck! He flings the delicious corpse to Shade's feet. "My gift to you."
While the cannibal pikemen tear into the gifted man-flesh, Shade and the Sgt. parley...

Attack of the Constant Tyrant
For as long as anyone could remember, the Island of the Cannibals had been a peaceful paradise-on-earth. We eked out a simple existence drinking the milk of coconuts and eating the flesh of anyone whose skin wasn't brown, plus a few brown people we didn't like, or anyone at random really if we got hungry.
For sport we hunted giant kiwi using long spears similar to these pikes. My kiwi-hunting team, the Brown Billikins, was the best of all, but our skill proved to our undoing.
Last fall, we tracked a kiwi of exceptional plumage to the far side of the island, where a raiding party of the Constant Tyrant had landed to take on fresh water. Because we fought off these pillagers, silk-clad ulfire swashbucklers from a distant land, with such ferocity, they spared us and offered us training, equipment, and man-flesh if we would fight in their master's army.
Oh to fight alongside the Constant Tyrant! It is a feeling I cannot easily describe, heaven for a cannibal, to march in formation with a thousand pikesmen, to feel the beat of the drum of doom, to fight alongside the Tyrant himself, shrouded in his ochre balaclava, astride his giant bionic rust monster! We ate entire villages, feasted on multi-course meals of a family's generations, as islands and coastal towns near and far learned to fear the Constant Tyrant!
Today was to be another victory day of feasting, but our canoes got lost in the fog, we got separated from the rest of the landing party, and smashed upon the rocks. We were marching to rejoin the column to the west when we came across you...

To the others: "Are we ure-say we ant-way to eep-kay these owns-clay?"
