While Yuan Ti may have been overused like the Drow and Illithids, they are still one of the best monsters in all of D&D. In my own campaign there is an entire order of knights who were seduced by a Yuan Ti goddess named Ilbor and turned traitor against their country and started a civil war. This resulted in the country being torn in two and the nation of Ilbor Paiden (the Knights of Ilbor) was born.
Now, at last, we're down to the battle of the zombies!

Final results are in! MM 157 FF 76 MM2 39
What is interesting is how each sequel scored roughly half of the previous. This is a fairly consistent pattern you see in many sequels in books, comics, movies, games, etc.

Purple worms are the coolest A/D&D monster of all time, and that's a fact.

Impassioned purple worm plea! After that, what can be said here for the lowly skeleton that hasn't been said already except everyone's got one?

Another big fan of Purple Worms here! Holmes showed us a hint of what was possible by including these in his "Basic" book. I remember reading an SF novel shortly after discovering D&D which dealt with a post-infestation Earth where humanity was learning to adapt to a world where giant alien worms nested under the ground. It wasn't clear whether containment was successful or even possible, and new infestation sites appeared from time to time. Altogether very disturbing, and it has informed my view of the ultimate menace ever since - much more so than Dune or Tremors.
