Four AD&D outdoor modules set in the lands of Carcosa are now available here: www.lulu.com/spotlight/geof_mckinneyYou do NOT need any other books to use them (other than the AD&D rules or a similar game). Each one is a stand-alone module, and they can also fit together. Their titles, prices, and front covers: THE YUTHLUGATHAP SWAMPS: $12.99 BARRENS OF CARCOSA: $12.99 JUNGLES OF THE K'NAANOTHOA: $9.99 THE MOUNTAINS OF DREAM: $10.99 Maps by Dion Williams (aka Burning~Torso) Art by Luigi Castellani

Sounds great, Geoffrey! Do you have any additional details to share? (Cost, page count, etc.) Naturally I'd prefer OD&D as per "true Carcossa" but AD&D's close enough where I can "wing it" on demand!

Sounds great, Geoffrey! Do you have any additional details to share? (Cost, page count, etc.) Each of the modules is 8.5" by 11" and saddle-stitched. Page-counts are as follows: THE YUTHLUGATHAP SWAMPS: 32 pages BARRENS OF CARCOSA: 32 pages JUNGLES OF THE K'NAANOTHOA: 16 pages THE MOUNTAINS OF DREAM: 20 pages (The latter two detail areas with significantly less land area because of the K'naanothoa Ocean, thus their fewer pages than the other two.)

What a surprise. I'm really looking forward to these. Dion played in my (now on hiatus) Carcosa campaign. His maps of Carcosa are amazing.

Because I live in good-old Germany, so getting stuff from "far away" is not so easy. PDF would be just perfect.

$45 may be a bit steep for me right now, so selling them separately sounds like a better deal for me. Still, I can see myself buying all the modules eventually, for the simple reason that AH NEEDS MOAR CARCOSA!!!!!

All cost issues aside, given the choice of one giganto book or four separate modules I'd prefer the four as individuals.

Because I live in good-old Germany, so getting stuff from "far away" is not so easy. PDF would be just perfect. At least at first it will be print only. I wouldn't worry about it, though. I doubt you'll have problems getting them in Germany for reasonable shipping.

$45 may be a bit steep for me right now, so selling them separately sounds like a better deal for me. All cost issues aside, given the choice of one giganto book or four separate modules I'd prefer the four as individuals. Exactly to both of you! I'm sure that there are plenty of people who would never drop $47 all at once who will think, "Hmmm. I'd like to try using Carcosa as a campaign setting. I can afford something in the $9.99 to $12.99 price range!" On top of that, I know that I myself like relatively slender modules rather than big tomes. Six of my favorite modules are Gary's G trilogy and D trilogy. I much prefer them as half-a-dozen 8 to 32-page modules rather than as a single book. I'm more likely to actually use bite-sized chunks, while I'm more likely to leave thick tomes on the coffee table. I've made these books the way that I would best like them. After all, I myself am going to buy copies and use them in my campaign!

Believe me, the whole time I was working on the maps I had to fight the urge to ask Geoffrey a million questions about the new modules. Attachments:

Sweet! Great news for lovers of psychedelic sword-and-planet weird adventure. Carcosa Module 5? What products were Carcosa Modules 1-4? The lands detailed in these four modules are immediately south of the lands shown in the old (2008, 2011) Carcosa book. I am working on four AD&D modules that similarly detail those northern lands. Those will be Carcosa modules 1-4. Each Carcosa module is self-contained. You do not need modules 1-4 before you can enjoy modules 5-8.

Just ordered them. 70€ is a tough price (incl. tax and shipping) to Germany, but HEY! It's Carcosa! But I would love to buy the PDFs, too.

It's worth trying a few discount codes for anybody buying the modules off of Lulu. (This doesn't affect the royalties paid to authors, only the price you pay for print books.) Last week there was a 35% off code LULU35 but this is no longer active. Today I was able to get a 25% off code, LULU25 to work. If that doesn't work for anyone, always try LULU15 and GETIT15 for at least a 15% savings. The site does a lot of flash sales. You can also find discount codes by going on to RetailMeNot.com and searching for Lulu. It goes without saying that I'm really looking forward to digging into these, geoffrey - as well as the forthcoming modules 1-4.

These sound great Geoffrey! I entirely agree about slim modules vs mega-tomes -- I never get around to properly reading the latter.
I'd be interested to hear about how these relate to the older Carcosa material, which had some very specific setting rules (the completely new magic system and spells, for example). In the new modules, are NPC wizards described in terms of AD&D magic-users now?
