It's worth trying a few discount codes for anybody buying the modules off of Lulu. (This doesn't affect the royalties paid to authors, only the price you pay for print books.) Last week there was a 35% off code LULU35 but this is no longer active. Today I was able to get a 25% off code, LULU25 to work. If that doesn't work for anyone, always try LULU15 and GETIT15 for at least a 15% savings. The site does a lot of flash sales. You can also find discount codes by going on to RetailMeNot.com and searching for Lulu. Thank you for the hint! I will use it - by the next 4 modules...

It goes without saying that I'm really looking forward to digging into these, geoffrey - as well as the forthcoming modules 1-4. Lulu sends me emails of the current discount code. I'm going to start putting the current code in my lulu store so everyone who visits will see the code.

I'd be interested to hear about how these relate to the older Carcosa material, which had some very specific setting rules (the completely new magic system and spells, for example). In the new modules, are NPC wizards described in terms of AD&D magic-users now? Yes, the modules include AD&D magic-users and clerics. It is of course a simple matter for anyone to replace them with Carcosan sorcerers of equal level if desired.

Just ordered them. 70€ is a tough price (incl. tax and shipping) to Germany, but HEY! It's Carcosa! But I would love to buy the PDFs, too. Good grief. How much of that is shipping? Doesn't lulu have a printer in Germany? Where are your copies shipping from?

These look cool! Are there any new tools/tables in these modules?

These look cool! Are there any new tools/tables in these modules? The modules are primarily hex-crawls. Each module has a one-page introduction to Carcosa, then it describes the various geographic features of the hex map (printed on the back cover), and finally it has descriptions (averaging about 140ish words each) of various points of interest on the map. These points of interest comprise the majority of each book. Some of the hex descriptions have various tables in them. I hope that helps!

I will buy all four of them if you post a Youtube video where you say this name fast, and ten times in a row. I am a man of my word, and I genuinely like Carcosa, so, are you up for it, Geoff?

Have just ordered all four, and LULU25 was working as a discount code.
I'm curious as to why these adventures were designed for AD&D, considering that the first Carcosa world book was written for OD&D, and the second was written for Lamentations of the Flame Princess. I realize it's not that hard to adapt back and forth, but (other than the sheer thrill of being Chaotic), why go for a third rules set this time?

Do you think you'll do PDFs in the near future? Even with the discount code your books end up being $68CAD once you add in shipping. (I'd rather mail you money then Lulu.)

Yes, I'm up for it. I'll get my daughter to videotape me saying that. Once the video is posted, I'll give you a link.

While sheer thrill of being Chaotic sounds good, the actual reason is pretty mundane: A little more than a year ago I converted our OD&D campaign over to AD&D. These modules are, basically, my campaign notes (though made considerably more comprehensible). These modules being for AD&D simply reflects the fact that we've been playing AD&D.

That price is crazy. I figured lulu had a printer in Canada. Is lulu solely a U. S. outfit? I do not have immediate plans for PDFs, but if my international customers are getting socked that badly, I will need to reconsider.

I do not have immediate plans for PDFs, but if my international customers are getting socked that badly, I will need to reconsider. I think they do print in Canada now, but shipping is still $15 for the 4 books. The Canadian dollar is also pretty weak, but there isn't much you can do about that. (Sometimes Lulu has crazy coupon codes, so I may wait for one of those.)

"A little more than a year ago I converted our OD&D campaign over to AD&D."
Talk about unutterable horror. . .oh well, maybe by the time you get ready to release modules 1-4 (The Necrophagous Northlands), you guys will have switched over to the Tunnels & Trolls rules.

Well since Astonishing Swordsmen and Sorcerers of Hyperborea is essentially AD&D, that should work well with the modules I am guessing.

Another option: Labyrinth Lord, with Advanced Companion and Realms of Crawling Chaos.

OSRIC is pretty close to AD&D.

I never had any problem converting from one version of D&D to another. Do this long enough and it just becomes second nature.
4th ed is the only true mutant on the family tree, and even it still uses the same general character classes, a 3-18 scale for ability scores, and a d20 for attacks.

I prefer to use B/X myself, but AD&D is a good choice. One of my players is more familiar with it. Saving up for the modules. I have a few expenses that need to be taken care of first.

Received mine today, they look great!
I see that modules 1-4 will go to the north of 5-8; do 1-4 sit immediately south of the original Carcosa map?

I suspect that you are the first one besides myself to get your copies of the modules. I hope you enjoy them! Actually, modules 5-8 are immediately south of the original Carcosa map. Modules 1-4 will give the same sort of expanded, AD&D treatment to the original Carcosa map. These modules will certainly not be released in 2016. Hopefully at least one will see release in 2017. (I'm going to publish each of those one at a time, rather than wait until all four are done.) Best case scenario would see all four published in 2017.

I received my copies today. It's looking good, geoffrey , though I was a bit surprised to see standard AD&D spells in the hex descriptions. Love what I'm reading, though.

How much of that is shipping? 17€ shipping costs. And 5€ tax. Doesn't lulu have a printer in Germany? Where are your copies shipping from? Nope. I've got the package from France. So, that's the point, why I prefer PDFs. I've got a good printer at work, which is able to create booklets. I'm happy with PDFs... But here they are. And a nice novel...

Thanks for taking the trouble to write that up. I'm confident that one does not need Deities & Demigods to use any of these modules.
