It looks fantastic!
Saddle stiched for me please... Perfect bound are too prone to fall apart with frequent reference.

We played our first game on Tuesday and I can tell you that Weapon versus Armour is definitely the way to go. And it supports the one-die weapon damage philosophy.
A very enjoyable game was had; one player's character had an intelligence and wisdom of 4 and 5 respectively. On the plus side he had 18 in strength and constitution.
Hey, dixysaxaphone, I'd love to hear your verdict on the print copies. I really want them but I'm worried that as thing perfect-bound books, they'll fall apart pretty quickly.

Hi folks,
I'm also looking for a quick-start adventure. Ideally it would be generic in terms of setting and environment but a wilderness trek would be nice.
Basically I'm after a scenario to "wow" my players and get them back into the D&D frame of mind.
Any more suggestions (preferably free)?
Thanks

I've read the article but my tiny brain doesn't understand it. Could you explain further? How do these table remove the need for a die roll?

I like the unencumbered and hiding rules just as they are. Although... Emma Peel...

Top of my wish list: A single volume Lulu hard copy.
In Australia each book is $8.94, add in the postage and I'm looking at about $44.00. :-(

Perfect!
I had forgotten the swapping of +5 to hit for + 1 die of damage. Now it all makes sense.
It's the hiding (when unencumbered?) that makes this the first Thief I've seen with teeth. Love it.
Thanks

Hi there,
The Thief gets a whopping bonus when attacking from surprise.
How do I determine that he or she does indeed have that advantage?
Thanks heaps

Thanks for the link Oakes. I took a look at The Smoldering Wizards site and I'm glad I did, excellent stuff. Our game is postponed due to the host (not the ref) coming down with a nasty bout of the flu.

Thanks for the additional explanation.
I'm yet to play my first game but I am wondering: as experience points for defeating enemies plays such a small part in the total xp award, is it worth the effort of going into this much detail?

Yep, I was missing the detailed explanation on page 14 of the campaign book!

Hi there,
Page 17 of Characters & Combat discusses the experience value of defeated foes based on the level of the enemy monster (which I take to mean hit dice). It also rates monsters (I'm guessing with less than one hit die) as level A, B and C. I don't see reference to this info in the Book of Monsters.
Am I missing something?
Thanks

My players would gladly give up languages for hits but not the reverse methinks.
If I'm wrong, I'll certainly let you know.
"Egad, curse my Latin schooling for I fear that last goblin attack has seen me undone!"
Thanks for the response.

Folks,
Do the Lulu books have glued or stapled bindings?
In my experience, small glued spines can't stand much referencing.
Thanks

Here's a potential spot:
Characters & Combat pg 33, just under Hit Points is a paragraph on additional languages. It seems a bit lost.

I'd be keen to know who is actually playing with the Delving Deeper rules set as opposed to just collecting.
I've been playing on and off since the first edition/version, mostly on. Played a bit of DCCRPG in there too but mostly DD.

Still reading...but what a huge big pile of brilliant design decisions.
If I was up to the task of such a project, I'd like to think my choices would have been very similar.
So far, I see no reason to house-rule anything.
