Gunnery will want to take up residence in the rooftop room with the cupola... with a good long view of whatever is happening.

According to the Treasure thread, the party's current net worth is over 12,000 "sallies" (colloquialism for the locally-minted silver coins), though there may be some money-laundering issues with the Pastor's unusual golden coins. To put that in perspective, the average worker in Arkham earns 50-100sp per month.. Oh!

I gift you this nice house, but everyone wants to sleep on the roof or in the cellar. Sheesh!
You don't need to hire servants, laborers, and craftsmen in-character (unless you guys think that would be fun). Just make a list of who you're hiring and at what rate (daily, monthly, monthly live-in) and I'll consider it done.
For important NPC retainers (like ship captains or mercenaries) the process will be a bit more detailed.
I like the price lists in LotFP a lot better than the original Men & Magic. Average Joe Arkham uses copper pieces to buy his beer and bread; a riding horse is a month's salary; a shiny suit of plate armor is a year's salary. Works for me!

For Fated: Whatever it costs to completely fix up one of the upstairs bedrooms (adjacent to the sunroom if possible) into a nice place, I'm willing to pay it. To include some nice rugs, curtains, furnishings, wallpaper, and whatever plumbing well-to-do standards allow.
Let's get all the trash hauled out, damage repaired, and common areas tidied. The tunnel to the river should be secured with some kind of sturdy, locking door. Homie in the cupola could use a spyglass/telescope, too.
I'm ready to head into town. First order of business for me is to talk to whoever I need to about selling the green chick into a life of bondage, preferably on the West Coast. Then I need to gear up. I'd like to add a small shield, nice dagger, a throwing axe, and some food/drinks for the next week. Gonna need some new clothes too, I think.

Sorry I didn't get a chance to tally up your purchases last night (dozed off watching BSG reruns).
May I propose the following sleeping assignments:
Gunnery: Cupola Breath: East wing bedrooms Fated: West wing sunroom/study Shade: East wing cellar (tunnel access) Minion: West wing cellar (sleeping pit)
Bastard will sleep on a cot in the kitchen, the better to serve your needs.

It's like the house was made just for us! If the Bastard has nothing else to do while we're away at the University, maybe he could work on getting the stairway from the kitchen to the basement cleared out? Also, are there any connecting walls between east and west basement wing? If so, would you want them connected, Minion? I like having multiple paths of retreat... If not, no big deal. Maybe the Bastard can also start working on procuring us some laborers who can begin securing the tunnel entrance and patching/fixing the house up over the next month.

If the Bastard has nothing else to do... Bastard's plan for the day involves carving up 5 corpses (made slightly easier by your pre-removal of the heads), stuffing them into trash bags, cleaning your cellar of blood, guts, and sticky immobilizing foam.... and disposing of the evidence. (All while keeping an eye on the prisoner.) But I've got another idea...

Minion would rather have only one way in and out of his area, and seems kind of strangely anxious about having it that way.
heh

Things are a little slow in Arkham lately... what's next for our heroes?
If anyone is bored, maybe you can entertain yourself by putting together some rough cost estimates (using the free PDF of LotFP) for various sized ocean and river vessels, including sailors and supplies...

If no one cares to come up with a proposal or other options, Breath intends to sign up for the Blighted Lands expedition ...

I'm feeling a little lazy about writing, so signing on to an expedition is okay by me.

There is a proposal on the table for the Museum to loan a few rock quarrying specialists plus the necessary transpo, dinosaurs, and equipment.

That sounds good to me. I will also update here in this thread later today after I consult my LotFP pdf for costs on a basic sorcerers laboratory for my side of the basement.

Well bugger all! No wonder I was confused. I was trusting my email notification. The last post I saw in the action thread until today was: "To make a long story short, further investigation reveals that the equipment in the cellar was used for fermentation and bottling of cider from the orchard. The Deep Ones were in the process of scavenging motors, copper wiring, gears, valves, control panels, and other spare parts, for whatever nefarious purpose..." From sometime last month. I apologise for unwittingly not being there I will just check it on my own for now. And, yeah, it was definitely bookmarked and still is :/

I think the best way to handle this going forward is: Once per in-game day, post a summary of what you bought/sold that day in the Treasure & Shopping thread: odd74.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=muchgnome&action=display&thread=6832When the PC's rest for the night, I will tally up your XP and silver for the day. This will (hopefully) make the bookkeeping really easy.

Minion's idea, communicated to the others through Shadow Radio, is to offer Clubber Green and his boys a job guarding Fated's house and grounds, as well as a retainer to act as potential muscle for us.

Fated parries #2's predictable take down attempt (rolls a 6, would have missed anyway) and counters with a Miss Piggy style karate-CHOP (11) for (1d10) 6hp damage. I had to laugh at this. My 19 month old son loves the Muppets (the old muppet show from the 80's - we have Season 3 on DVD and he likes watching it). His favorite is Miss Piggy. If you ask him what Miss Piggy says, he responds, "Hiiiii YA!" (Incidentally, it took me a few days to realize why he likes Miss Piggy so much. It's her name. You say it just like you say all of the various sitters and teachers he has - Miss Jenny, Miss Beth, Miss Colleen... Miss Piggy! Quite logical, really...)
