While you are clearing the cellar, your butler (the Bastard) will go in search of labor and supplies to begin restoration of the house. Please let me know what "standard of living" you wish for your PC. If the party is in agreement, then the entire house will (eventually) be furnished to that standard. If some players wish to spend more than others, you can split up the rooms amongst yourselves.
Here are the furnishing/hardware/cleaning-supply prices in silver pieces, per person, per day. Multiply by approximately 30 days to calculate the total cost of the renovation project.
Poor 1 (bare floors and walls, straw beds, cinderblocks, duct tape) Average 5 (dorm room chic) Secure 10 (typical middle class furniture, rugs, curtains, linens, etc) Fancy 25 (upper class trappings) Extravagant 100+ (suitable for entertaining, each room has one conversation-piece feature: statue, piano, fountain, etc.)
Here are some basic day-labor costs, in silver pieces. Multiply by 10 for monthly wages (25% discount if you provide room and board). For details see LotFP p. 47.
Coachman 6 Guard 8.4 Guide 14 Laborer 5.6 Linkboy (lantern carrier) 4.2 Physician 28 Servant 5.6 Teamster 10

Same here. Average sounds just fine for The Shade Of The Evermore. He has more important things to spend his money on...

Bastard's morning errand is trash bags, duct tape, towels, and miscellaneous cleaning supplies; enough to get started on the messiest chores (total cost 25sp; he pays in coppers).

Nice drawing migellito! These ladies look more like the gal on the right than the gal on the left... by now you have probably figured out that they are not mere 1HD peons.

Once he arrives, and is able to attack, The Shade will carry his charge into whichever green woman he can most easily do so, using his arc welder. But, as he is charging in, if he isn't charging at her from behind, he attempts to distract her with a sudden and urgent communication that is directed only at her... He will communicate: **LOOK OUT BEHIND YOU!!!**If he's coming at her from behind, then obviously he does not draw attention to his attack. If there is nobody attacking either of the green women from behind, then he'll direct his communique at the other green woman, as well, in an attempt to distract them both. In my years of gaming, this is one of the most inventive uses of psionics I've ever seen. So simple, but I've never seen anyone do it before. Well done!

No worries! I know all about writer's block. Try not to worry about it; that's when it usually comes to me.

Try not to worry about it; that's when it usually comes to me. True in the bedroom, the bathroom, AND at the gaming table! Just my observation that our latest Deep Ones Down Cellar battle was resolved not so much through blows and hit points, but rather through surprise, initiative, and morale. [The deep ones all failing their saves helped, too!] In case you were wondering, this was another random wandering monster encounter. Now you have a hint that 2 of the pips on that d6 are "deep one" and "mutant ghoul." Welcome to Arkham, where freaky creatures magically appear in your basement and crawl-spaces overnight! This plus the XP from the Ghoul in the Attic puts Minion close to 2nd level... I'll tally it up when the day's adventures are through. I believe there was discussion of a trip into town? Or maybe dump the bodies somewhere first? Or do you want to splash around the beaver pond for a while, try to rustle up something to fight?

I think we haven't fully secured the house yet, right? My vote is to continue with that...

I think we haven't fully secured the house yet, right? My vote is to continue with that... The party has now poked their heads into every room of the house. To make a long story short, you will not have any more encounters on the property until tonight at the earliest. Your DM encourages you to branch out and explore.

Fated: "It sounds like there has been a tremendous misunderstanding... we will release you both shortly." [OOC: Okay, there's no way we let a woman run around who we killed her sister and she hangs out with Deep Ones and also she is tougher than us. So let's figure out a way to get rid of her permanently, I suggest the slave market. I'm really suspicious of a rowboat captain named 'Destroying Angel' - we should have the teamsters verify he is who he says he is, and if he checks out then we can release him and tell him he owes us a favor for sparing his life.] At first blush, I was very fond of the idea of keeping her around as my 'sorcerer's assistant' or 'igor.' As a guy who watched Capt. Kirk in action during my formative years, I have a soft spot for the green ladies. After finding out that my unique personal magnetism wouldn't be enough to keep her under 100 a month, I'm sadly forced to agree with your assessment. I also think your plan for Destroying Angel is the best way to go.

Minion can hire a scholar for about 100sp/month or an alchemist for 250 (discounted 25% if room & board are included). Arkham is a college town so it should be easy to find qualified help. And don't worry, there's a green woman out there for you somewhere.

Perhaps Minion will change his name as he attracts his own minions, followers, and devotees?

What would it take to get either the pond-side or the house-side of the tunnel (or... both? But starting with the pond-side opening) secured? Financially, I guess... then logistically (meaning, with the handymen we seem to have available to us).
Was thinking, we pretty much have a pre-built escape tunnel at this point; just need to make sure the basement is accessible from inside the house and that the tunnel is secured from the outside.
Also, would anyone mind if The Shade took up residence in some part of the basement area?

I was hoping for a room in the basement, as it would work well with my sorcerous studies, and would be more isolated. The tunnel has made Minion a bit paranoid though, so now I'm not sure what to do.
The Star Lodge on the ground floor is something I need to reinforce and use from time to time, but it's not something I can sleep in or near every night. When he's not using it, Minion wants to be as far from the actual sky as possible.

Financially, I guess... then logistically (meaning, with the handymen we seem to have available to us). The tunnel can be blocked at the pond end with a sheet of scrap metal (and then further obscured with brush, debris, etc.) and at the cellar end by a large metal shelving unit. This would be sufficient to hide the tunnel from a casual observer, but as you've seen, not from a determined raiding party of Deep Ones with good intel. I assume you will be hiring laborers and craftsmen at some point in the near future. Sturdy, deadbolted doors would be a good item for their to-do list. For the time being I will assume you conceal the tunnel entrance with the materials at hand.

A reminder there are actually two separate cellars: the larger eastern cellar has the bottling machinery and tunnel to the pond; the western cellar is an interrogation chamber with hidden holding cell under the rug.
The eastern cellar can be accessed through the tunnel, the exterior bulkhead door, and a currently-boarded-up stair to the kitchen. The western cellar is accessible only through the ground floor of the west wing.

I assume you will be hiring laborers and craftsmen at some point in the near future. Sturdy, deadbolted doors would be a good item for their to-do list. This is more along the lines of what I was thinking... How much do we have in our coffers? And how much would it take to get the pond-side secured? I'd like to do that sooner than later. There should be plenty of room in the basement (either side) for multiple people to stay. The Shade was interested in the tunnel-accessible side of the basement specifically because of the tunnel. He has need of a nightly swim and this would be a great way for him to do so in the pond without drawing too much attention to it.

According to the Treasure thread, the party's current net worth is over 12,000 "sallies" (colloquialism for the locally-minted silver coins), though there may be some money-laundering issues with the Pastor's unusual golden coins.
To put that in perspective, the average worker in Arkham earns 50-100sp per month..
