I’ll be away from my computer from now through July 3rd. Please NPC Breath of New Moon as necessary. At the moment her preference would be to simply sit the night out somewhere safe and catch the next train to Arkham. However, if everyone else wanders off somewhere else she’ll follow rather than be left alone in Aylesbury.

Have a great vacation, Kipper!
Assuming the party reaches Arkham safely, is there anything special you'd like Breath to do/buy/research in the city? (feel free to PM me if it's of a sensitive nature)

Despite his apparent lack of sight and mobility, he maneuvers deftly behind the bar and sniffs the air in your direction, his single ear twitching expectantly. Could this be The Bucket? Kick him! Kick him!

It will be a busy weekend here with family visiting for the 4th of July.
Everybody relax, have a sausage sandwich and a nice bath, I will probably check in from time to time, but don't expect any combat or major plot twists over the weekend.

I'd like to have Breath be at the swimming-hole rather than at the drinking-hole if that's OK ;D. (It's closer to Aylesbury and keeps her closer to a majority of her fellow travellers. She also has no interest in alcohol).

If y'all want to start planning your next move, that's OK with me!

Fated to Die: "I feel an acute need of gold pieces. Sorry about that, there's an awful lot of "Treasure type: nil" in the Carcosa monster-list!

Very true. And it's not like we're getting XP from gold. The Sovereign Mask of All Who See just wants to slay those bastards in the morning and maybe have a spot of tea in the afternoon.

I’ll be away again (no access to a computer), leaving early Sunday morning and returning Aug 1st. Please NPC Breath of New Moon while I’m gone.
At the moment her plan is to do as stated in the game thread: strip naked and then try to make her way up to the bell tower using stealth, spot the light in the hills, then return similarly undetected. If confronted unexpectedly she'll attempt to impersonate a ghost, and if this ruse fails she'll attack (if one-on-one) or flee (if outnumbered/outclassed).
She'll try to convince anyone wishing to accompany her to remain down in the graveyard, in order to maximise stealth. She'll arrange a secret signal (such as a birdcall) if she needs assistance.

I'm still on board, but haven't found a place to really sink in at the moment.
The Soverign Mask of All Who See is waiting till everyone is done frolicking in town so we can head off to this cave, back to Carcosa, or some other adventure site.

Yeah, sorry for the lack of combat lately, but you guys have been very lucky with the wandering monster rolls... Haha, it's all good. I've just been too busy lately to keep up with everything going on in the town. I was out for a few days and I haven't quite gotten a chance to really catch up since.

Will the vermiform Wheat Man of Aylesbury consume our "heroes"? Will the Purple Stranger have mercy on Shadow of Evermore's disembodied soul? What is the THING IN THE SNUGLI? Tune in next week... DUM DUM DUM!
(I'll be back Sunday night.)

I am considering the following house rule, any thoughts? It applies to mass/troop combat only, not the man-to-man or fantasy tables.
Troops would now have a separate attack rating in addition to their defense rating. For example dagger=Light Foot; sword=Heavy Foot; 2-hand sword=Armored Foot.
Chance-to-hit would no longer be determined by armor type but by weapon type. This is a buff for light-armored fighters (such as the "barbarian in furs with a 2-hand sword" archetype) and conversely offers plate-wearers a strategic reason to choose a heavier weapon.
The only reason I have not adopted this house rule already is that, in Carcosa 1st printing, all weapons are mechanically equal in both chance-to-hit and damage. Depending on how the dice fall, a dagger could do d12 and a lance d4! If the players prefer then I will keep the current all-weapons-equal system we've been using to this point.

I like your house rule. Makes sense.

Maybe there's no deeper meaning here, but does anyone else find it odd that a bunch of green men are called Whitman... as in White-man?

Maybe there's no deeper meaning here, but does anyone else find it odd that a bunch of green men are called Whitman... as in White-man? The maggot-man came from a tomb labeled "Wheat Man" so that is the likely origin of the name. However there may be a kernel of truth to your "White Man" theory...
