House Rules: Each Hero-tier PC may personally command 1 unit up to 20 troops (granting each of them the +1 leadership bonus) and will be the last man standing (unless singled out for man-to-man or fantasy combat by an enemy leader-type). Your unit may consist of your fanatic henchmen (maximum number determined by Charisma) plus any non-fanatic troops you have recruited to your cause (mercenaries, slaves, hired goons, peasant rabble, etc.).
If you have any Veteran-tier henchmen (1+1HD or better) they may act as sergeants and lead their own unit up to 20 men. Naturally they gain none of the Hero abilities discussed above (unless you have very powerful henchmen) but this method increases the number of troops you can (indirectly) control to 20 x (max henchmen due to Cha). For an 18 Charisma Hero (12 henchmen) that's 240 men! plus the 20 you command directly = 260. An average Charisma hero can command 100.
Once you reach the rank of Superhero (8th level) then you can command Heroic captains who can each command multiple units, allowing for armies of thousands of troops! But we'll cross that bridge when we get there...

It might be fun to name your unit and write up a little stat block, like:
[orange]Gunnery Platoon Victor[/orange] [3 orange men, 3LF + howdah pistol]
or
[purple]The Bitter Grapes[/purple] [20 purple women veterans riding giant bumblebees, 20LH+1, venom]
ehiker as I mentioned in passing before, no sane man who has seen Shade unmasked would willingly serve under his command. Thus he should be on the lookout for non-humans, mad cultists, etc. to recruit to his unit.

A few rules changes on the horizon: <snip> I welcome your feedback on these proposed changes. The idea is to pick up the pace a little by reducing the DM's bookkeeping for the "pawns" in the fight while maintaining the appropriate level of detail for the main characters. I'm all for whatever makes it easier for you

Just a heads up I might be off-line for a couple of days due to power outages and consequent hurricane zombies. Everyone else out there in Sandy's path, be safe!

Batten down the hatches and ride it out, Mush. Remember, if worse comes to worse, you can drink your own urine because it's sterile.
We'll see you on the other side.
(of the storm, not the afterlife.)

I think I read somewhere you can drink your own urine once, but then you shouldn't drink your recycled urine the second time?
Anyway I just walked across the street for beer & candy to ride out the storm, I am in MA so the forecast is not as bad as NJ and NY. Still power outages are a near certainty. Last October we lost power 6 days from less than 1" snow!

Yeah, there's no way I'd drink my own urine on the second cycle. That's gross. If it starts getting REALLY bad, and Sally flings a jellyfish onto your bare skin, you should also remember you can neutralize the toxin by peeing on it. (Please help me; I've been watching my 2 year old alone for over a week now while the wife is out of town. I think I've gone slightly insane. As an aside, I don't know how single parents do it. God bless them.)

I stockpiled lots of beer to increase my jellyfish-neutralizing capabilities. ;D

I have a feeling people are going to warm up to Shade with you around! He's a right jolly fellow, in comparison!

I will be out of town this weekend (Nov. 9-11) so please use the next couple of days to talk amongst yourselves and welcome the new players to the group. The carnage resumes next week!

Have fun this weekend Mush. Hopefully I get a party with cake from the rest of the party. Who doesn't want to party with an undead behemoth?

We should be like a tag team. Every wrestling organization has two big men that work together. I think this is the start of a beautiful friendship... that all starts with cake at my introduction party ;D
Assume the party escort submission position or you will miss the party

I don't know if I would eat Carcosan birthday cake... but then I'm probably jaded by now.

Don't judge a Carcosan human by his/her size... case in point, Breath of New Moon: not even 5 foot tall, but 18 strength!

Oh of course not...everybody needs a Hulk Hogan to throw the giants around lol. That was the precise moment professional wrestling "jumped the shark" and I realized the outcome was fixed. According to legend the scene was very tense that day as nobody was sure Andre would actually go through with it! (pride etc.)

Good for him for putting on the good show and getting none of the credit lol.

I realized it wasn't real as a kid when I started being able to easily predict outcomes.
