I guess we should just move on to the take-off, to move things along.

Victor could afford one ton of electronics if you wanted to pick that up. Have we heard from Ronin84 lately?

Victor could afford one ton of electronics if you wanted to pick that up. Have we heard from Ronin84 lately? OOC: Before we do anything else, I'd like us to decide on a few things.
1. We all agreed to "equal shares", right?
2. So, are we pooling our money to buy cargo, supplies, etc.?
If the answer is yes, here's how much I think we have:
Logan Schmidt 46,000
Henry Porto 22,010
Zebulon Vorn 9,780
Victor Pérez 90,000
Sharron "Leftenant" Ochenfeld 1,150 (owes Mother 1,450)
Mother 2,600 How much are each of us pooling into the Ship's Fund? Logan will put in 45,000. Fill in the blanks below for your characters (0 is fine, but we need to know what the Ship's Fund is so we can buy cargo and/or supplies:
Logan Schmidt 45,000 Henry Porto ______ Zebulon Vorn ______
Victor Pérez ______
Sharron "Leftenant" Ochenfeld ______(owes Mother 1,450)
Mother ______ TOTAL 45,000 3. Are we going to ship any freight/cargo? We have 27 dtons of space (37 if we don't have a ship's boat) we shouldn't jump with it empty, I'd say ship some freight at 1 Kcr, if nothing else. And if we have the money in the Ship's Fund, are we buying a dton of the electronics on spec?
4. I *think* we have 8 double occupancy staterooms and 2 single occupancy staterooms. If that is correct, we could accommodate we 6 crew members, plus up to another 12 passengers! We have lined up 3 High and 3 Middle Passengers, and I think they pay (correct me if I'm wrong) 10Kcr/High and 8Kcr/Mid that would be 54 KCr to add to the kitty! So, are we going to carry them?
5. I think the rules say that the Scout Service will provide fuel and life support free of charge. Is that true, or do we need to buy our refined fuel (300cr * 60=18Kcr) and live support (2kcr/stateroom, occupied or not * 9=18Kcr)?

It's 10 staterooms, so 20kcr life support. The scout service provides fuel and maintenance but not life support.
Mother is able to line up these possibilities:
High Passengers: 3 Mid Passengers: 3 Low Passengers: 6 (you could take 1 in the medical bay if you wanted) Available cargoes are: 15 ton, 15 ton, 20 ton, 30 ton Speculative Cargo: 25 tons of Electronic Parts at 80,800 cr per ton (I have applied the 1% surcharge for breaking up the lot since you can't take or afford a 25 ton cargo)
You will actually have another week to seek cargo while the Generate program is written if you want to see what else comes up for speculation.
Note that on the cargoes, one of the 15 ton cargoes is actually two cargoes, a 10 ton and a 5 ton. The 10 ton cargo is an ATV owned by a PC in another group... The PC is one of your high passengers. If you actually decide against that deal, it's ok, it just seemed fun to do...
You can carry 27 tons of cargo in the bays, plus an additional 10 in the shuttle if desired.

Eris All OOC: 1) I believe so. 2) I think we should all pitch in what we can, especially for this first jump. We can come up with something more formal later. Sharon ante's up a whopping Cr600, and Mother forks over Cr1500. 3) We absolutely should. I vote for one or two tons of the electronics, the 5-ton and 20-ton cargoes, and the ATV in the Ship's Boat. 4) If we double up for this trip and hot-rack the staterooms, we can take those passengers (As long as Sharon gets to interrogate interview them first...). 5) Who doesn't like free?

It's 10 staterooms, so 20kcr life support. The scout service provides fuel and maintenance but not life support. Yeah, it's 10 staterooms, but 2 are half-sized so I thought maybe we'd get a break on their LS costs. If not, no big deal. Electronics: I'd say 1 dton. I don't think we could buy 2 and have cash for life support, plus any sort of reserve. Of course, if we don't get buy in from everyone we won't have enough for even 1 ton! Passengers: Yes, let's take all 6! Freight: Take as much as we can! Ship's fund so far: 47,600 cr

I'll blame the cold medicine. 10 stateroom equivalents so 20k life support.

Yeah, Henry's in for 21000. That leaves him Cr 10 to his name, but he won't really be in much of a position to spend anything...
(I know it shows 22000 above, but I bought a hand computer for 1000.)
Otherwise, I'll leave the passenger/cargo stuff to you guys.
Also, as far a life support goes: if you have a double occupancy stateroom you pay double for life support. It's still 2 KCr per (non-frozen) person.

It's still 2 KCr per (non-frozen) person. Oh, updated your sheet with the hand computer. In '77 rules, life support is 2kcr per stateroom, occupied or not. It's not per person... Considering that food and lodging for "high living" is only 225 cr per week ((600 + 300) / 4), and 1 weeks oxygen is 560 (20 cr/6hrs * 4 * 7), there's still something else that's part of that cost. Well, I suppose if you consider 2 weeks of oxygen, then you're 2160 credits for 2 people for 2 weeks, but there are scrubbers and stuff. So probably the bulk of the cost really is the oxygen and replacement filters and active ingredients for the air scrubbers, which probably mostly goes off volume not number of people (though if by volume, the bridge should cost some life support...).

OK, so we'll take on the 3 high and 3 middle passengers; one passenger comes with a 10 ton ATV + 5 tons of cargo. If we store the ATV in the Ship's Boat, that leaves 22 tons of cargo space. We can fill that with the 20 ton cargo. I'm not sure if we can/should bother with the electronics - it's expensive, and there's no guarantee we'll make a profit at the other end.
Are we good with that?

Are we good with that? The offer price for the electronic parts is 80.8%, if you don't use a broker at Cheapside, you get a +2, which means a 2 would result in a sale price of 80%, a 3 or higher results in a sale price of at least 90%. Using a +4 broker at Cheapside results in a minimum sale price after 20% commission of 88% (sale price percentage is multiplied by 100kcr base price of electronic parts).

Did we decide on purchasing the Electronics cargo, or are we just sticking with the standard cargoes? I was trying to get us enough cash together to buy 1 tone of the Electronics. Last I saw we were only at approx. 46 Kcr in the group fund and that wasn't enough. I'd like us to buy 1 ton of Electronics, take as much cargo as we can and take all the passengers, too. However... ...I'm 20 miles northeast of Pensacola Florida and Hurricane Nate is coming to visit this weekend. It's quite likely I'll be several TL's lower by Sunday. No electricity, cell or internet service means you may not hear from me for a while. Please, NPC Logan (or just put him in the background) if I disappear. Wish me luck.

In the meantime, I think we've got eris's thoughts on how to proceed, so if others are willing to pool in on the electronics, those will get purchased and then I will start running encounters.
