I'd like to finish up purchases and other pre-game stuff. It would be nice to start actual play by Monday.
If you have already purchased stuff, but it isn't in the ref charts on Google Docs, either add it, or if you don't have a Google ID, let me know so I can add it.
Coffee, could you serve as out "caller" and organizer and get everyone assigned to staterooms? Or would you prefer ronin84 do that duty?

Is there a "house rule" providing a "basic equipment pack" for characters that muster out without cash? If not, could Mother provide a "loan" to the Leftenant?

You should have another player's PC loan. Automatic equipment is clothing and toiletries. Maybe a watch. Communicates and hand computers would be extra. Probably basic jewelry appropriate for social standing. The honk of what you pack for a trip less cellphone, tablet, and laptop.

The Leftenant's starting gear:
Which leaves Mother with Cr1150, and the Leftenant indebted to Mother for Cr1450...

And finalize my own gear purchases.

I just added equipment in my write-up. I may modify it a bit, just to add minor gear. I was hoping to include a vacc suit, but that would have taken up all my cash.
Question: Are we using the Book 1 rule that all PCs have skill 0 in all weapons to avoid penalties in combat?

Mother will take one of the small staterooms off of the bridge, if that's OK. She's used to the cramped bunk-and-desk crew arrangements on freighters and liners, and I assume she will have a role on the bridge. Otherwise, she'll take the starboard stateroom just aft of the bridge hatch ("Luxurious!").
The Leftenant will take one of whatever staterooms is left since she's just grateful to be employed again. However, she's not above claiming a better stateroom if someone meets an unfortunate end...

Well if Mother took the starboard "cutout" stateroom, the Hunter's Suite could be used as a Ship's Commons. We need a place to sit around a table and talk, plan, eat, and lounge. Hum, no Mother is the Engineer, so she should have the stateroom closest to Engineering. Put her there and Logan in the cutout stateroom on the starboard side. He'll spend most of his time in the Commons doing Steward things anyway.

You do have the lounge on the lower deck for a commons, it's outfitted for such (the Scout version probably has less comfortable fittings than an original Safari Ship, but it still has decent accommodations there. Of course there are also pull up tie downs for cargo...

Okay, I thought that area was going to be used for cargo along with the capture tanks almost all the time, so we'd need another place for a Commons Area.

Of course there are also pull up tie downs for cargo... Ah! Okay, I thought that area was going to be used for cargo along with the capture tanks almost all the time, so we'd need another place for a Commons Area. Well, even with a full load of 7 tons of cargo in that space, you will still have room for a commons. The deck plan space for the lounge is about 13 dTon. The staterooms use about 30 dTon, so there is 10 dTon of stateroom tonnage that is used for common space. Not all of the 11.5 dTon of corridor space needs to come from the stateroom space. So I would say that even with a full load of cargo in the lounge, you will still definitely have access to the kitchen facilities and a commons table. Hmm, good imagery for that portion of the commons would be the commons in Serenity. Note also that other than the 1/2 staterooms off the bridge, crew can double bunk in staterooms. That is something to consider if you take on passengers.

I kind of assumed we would use the Hunter's Suite for High Passage clientele.

I just edited my character. I forgot that characters get an extra skill upon gaining a commission (also when promoted, but my PC never got promoted).

I never once assumed we'd take passengers. A charter, maybe, but not passengers. We might need the occasional passenger just to keep the kitty fed, but I agree I'd be happier not having to worry about passengers very often.

Ok, we just need some gear purchases by Ronin84 for Victor Perez, and then some decision as to what to do, follow up on rumors here, take a commission from what has been offered, or what. I will start an adventure thread for play to start in.

Gives an immediate goal, somehow acquire Generate and Jump-2... Well and armaments and software for them also... And I hope you have poked around here a bit to see more setting information.

I always thought the 1 MCr per module number rule for software applied to new ship purchases not to used Scout/Couriers. Still, here's my revised list of software:
Maneuver .1 MCr Jump 1 .1 MCr Jump 2 .3 MCr Navigation .4 MCr Anti-HiJack .1 MCr ------------------ total 1 MCr
Do I still get to keep the ships armaments?
