"I'll drive and Jimmy can use his keen eyes to look out for a good spot to make our move, and notice any patterns by the guards and drivers of the bank-mobiles. Also perhaps after we follow these guys we can ditch our car in case they spot us, and also so we don't get caught with it." Ref: in order to follow the Brinks employee's you'll need to know where they are coming from or follow them when they leave the bank. Do they make other stops on the block? Where do they go after the drop off's. Brinks Express has an office in Chicago in 1920 and is the dominant money service in the city.

You couldn't re-paint it because that would make it unique. "Grand Theft Auto" was probably just considered theft. Car licensing was probably in it's infancy. Were there Vin Numbers? Tommy suggests, "Maybe we can ask O'Banion's boys if there's a "friendly" garage where we could do the necessary changes to make it our own? Unless you had another model in mind for something more permanent? Either way, we need to get a few bucks for it at least, money is short right now." OOC: That makes sense, I think I remember seeing something like that they weren't unique. It probably wouldn't be too hard to make whatever changes we'd need to keep it from being easily identified.

One after they leave the bank, and presumably one from the Brinks office to the bank. If either of those don't work out for us, we can adjust our plan from there.

The Brinks Express is seen coming and going everyday. The 2 cars with the 6 guards are seen on Fridays only.
Sean and Jimmy started late in the day. They can pick up the Brinks boys after they visit the bank then follow them to the Depot. After that, they can follow them from the Depot Thursday morning...
Tommy leaves Velm's then enters B. Allen's next door...

Tommy leaves Velm's then enters B. Allen's next door... OOC: Assuming this is a nice place. Tommy just observes awhile in fear of talking to the wrong person or having to speak to too many people. He'll shrug off any offered help to assist him at shopping and just get a feel for the place. Where would the store manager be located, does that manager look to be an assistant or the main man, what entrance would the bagman use, what entrance would tommy use if he were the bagman. To confirm his observations, he'll watch the elevator and enter it when just he and the elevator operator are the only two riding. Tommy asks, "Do you know where I can find the manager to this store sir? And would he be the store's main manager?" He tips the man $1. Tommy: Observation [ d100 = 22 ]

Sean and Jimmy will pick up the brinks cars after they leave the bank and follow it to the depot, hoping to spot a less crowded place away from their neighborhood to get a jump on the cars. They can also check and see if it's possible to separate one car from the other at any point. They'll make note of any other stops if there are any other stops on the route.
Also they'll try and observe if the bank's guards play any part in the transfer of the money.

Wednesday afternoon Sean drives the stolen car while Jimmy sits "shotgun" doing observations. They pick up the 2 Brinks cars after they leave the bank and follow them on their route. The "mail" pick up is small. The Guards make a few more stops then drive to the depot. The cars drive into the building and out of view.
Sean and Jimmy park out front of the building in a inconspicuous place. They conduct some observations then drive away. Sean notices a suspicious male sitting in a Ford Touring car (Sedan) in the distance seemingly looking in your direction. When Sean drives away the car follows at a distance...
Tommy tips the elevator employee who points him in the direction of the store managers office on the 2nd floor. Tommy enters the office and the manager looks up from his desk "Good afternoon, can I help you?"

Tommy enters the office and the manager looks up from his desk "Good afternoon, can I help you?" "Yes. I'm Tom Wexford[extends a handshake], and I represent a Mr. O'Banion, who's a businessman much like Mr. Torio. This neighborhood block is about to be redesigned politically and I wanted to extend a hand of friendship in his behalf. I'm sure our future partnership will go as smoothly as it did with your soon-to-be, previous partner, Mr. Torio. [Tommy pulls out his flask and takes a pull] Mr. O'Banion will be happy to provide your business with security, delivery, disgruntled employees, advertising and promotions, especially among the Irish community. Any problem, big or small, will interest us during our partnership[Looks at the man]....so don't be shy to tell us any. Care for a nip?[offers a pull off of the flask] Anyway, we'll be back around this Friday to seal the deal. Take care". and Tommy(OOC:Attempts to)walks out. (when done)He'll head over to Pitzer's to get the morning news from that Kraut.

The manager just stares at Tommy when he's offered the flask. After the conversation about "protection" he just sat back at his desk and went quiet. Tommy exits the department store and walks to Pitzer's. It's now 11:30 am. Upon entry Tommy is met by Jack Pitzer. Jack says JP: "Ah, ya. You have come back. What can I do for you today?"

Sean says to Jimmy, "I think we're being tailed. I'm not sure who's following us or why. Let's see if we can get a look at the driver. Check out the Ford Touring car." Sean begins gradually slowing the car down trying to not make it obvious that he wants the Ford to get closer."
If the car does close the distance, Sean will wait for a space open enough and then attempt to do a a quick 180 turn in order to be right next to the Ford Touring car facing the opposite direction.

He also slides a sawed off shotgun from under his coat into his right hand and lowers it so it can't be seen from the outside of the vehicle...

Jack says JP: "Ah, ya. You have come back. What can I do for you today?" Tommy picks up the Star and turns to Jake Mingle's column, "Just checking the news. Looking to see if the boy-o's in blue have any leads on that alley massacre last week. Any word on the street with that?" Tommy says as he pays for the paper. He'll look to see if there is any suspicious on-lookers. Tommy: Observation [ d100 = 59 ] When finished, he'll head down to Velma's.

Since the touring car slows down as well, Sean will make as inconspicuous a u-turn as possible. If he manages to pass the Touring car, he'll make another u-turn to end up behind the Ford. If the Ford makes a u-turn as well and prevents Sean from getting behind him, Sean will announce that maybe they should stop somewhere out of the way to throw the car off their scent, and just pretend to be grabbing a cup of coffee or something. Then they'll keep a look out to see if they can get a good view of the driver, if the car parks somewhere or drives by them. The whole time Sean will be ready for the car to attempt a drive-by or take a shot at them.

Tommy checks the paper (morning edition) and finds nothing relevant...Pitzer says JP: "nothing yet, though the reporter, that Mingle fella, was in here today asking about it. Turns out he's looking into it. He comes here from time to time for the latest. He know's where to go for reliable info. By the way, do you like to...gamble."
Sean slows his car on Church street while driving East. He makes a U-turn then drive West to pass the suspicious car. The car pulls over ad parks in front of the Northside Athletic Club. The male driver takes out a newspaper and begins to read. His fedora covers his face as he looks down...

"Let's have a word with this bloke." Sean will make a second u-turn to park about 500 feet or so behind the guy with the newspaper. He'll also look to see if he notices any gun size bumps under the man's jacket etc.
observation: 58 roll= 45. If the man doesn't move. Sean'll park the car, get out, and nonchalantly head in the man's direction.

Sean and Jimmy approach the car cautiously. jimmy takes the passenger side door with his sawed off hidden under his jacket. When Jimmy reaches the right side door he leans in and says JB" Lerkin fer sumbody, freynd" in heavy brogue...

Sean will head up to the other side of the car with his hand on his drawn .45 hidden under his jacket. He leans against the car smiling. Sean also tries to glance to see if he notices anything inside the car ( a badge, an Italian newspaper or something else in Italian, anything that will help identify who this driver is with.)

"Hello there, Gus. Why don't we play this nice and make sure we all stay safe and sound instead of dead and buried? With your thumb and forefinger only remove the gat from your side there, and slide it down the seat toward my partner. Any mistake from you, any twitch of any other finger or move, and I'm afraid it will be the last thing you do. All we really want is some information. We get it, and we all get to go home and celebrate the end of another glorious day."
Sean watches to make sure the guy in the car follows his instructions with the gun.

Jimmy picks up the wallet and flips it open. It reveals a metal badge and ID card. Jimmy looks at it and say's "Pinkerton's National Detective Agency..."
