I am a huge fan of Vornheim. I think it's a revolutionary product and I'm a little sad that in the three years since its original release we haven't seen more things like it. I did a short review of it at my blog here.

How about this as a principle (and this applies to the moderator of the site-Finarvyn-as much as anyone else): 3. Well, based on what you've said, he MAY be a jerky jerk-face (it's pure speculation) but since I'm above it all, I don't think people should be making objective (as opposed to relative) judgments about anything. Ouch. Nothing like "calling out" one of the classier posters on these boards. I thought his post was pretty diplomatic, considering the potty-mouth name calling that was going on here. I don't understand why he doesn't give more folks here a "time out" when they misbehave. He did it to me a time or so, and I don't think my posts were as personally offensive as some of the others I've seen here.

2. He may be a jerky jerk-face but you should separate his jerky jerk-faceness from his game I thought I've been perfectly reasonable.

A: "Spalding is a racist, homophobic, royalist, alcoholic fetishist. So I won't buy his game." B: "Well, that's a silly attitude. We should separate the man from the work. After all, Hitler was a mean sketcher, Stalin knew how to turn a phrase and Genghis Khan composed quite moving love poetry."
Was B's response reasonable? Sure, in it's way, but that doesn't do Spalding's reputation much good. In a sense B just implicitly confirmed A's slander. And there's a good chance that additional people--people that previously knew nothing about Spalding--will come away believing the nasty things that were said about him.
Look, I think a lot of people have been a bit guilty on this, without may of them intending any harm, but the cumulative effect on the reputation of a real person--an author and gamer in the community (Zak S)--is of course quite bad. Why add to that effect in a discussion of the merits of a game?

I look at this thread and the only thing that comes to mind is:
Scalydemon and Cameron left the boards but Kent is still here, and I really wish it were the other way around.
