Don't get me wrong, I'm not leaving the forum in a huff or anything. I like it here. I just don't think I'm very well suited to group creative projects because of situations like this, where some (including me) see something as harmless fun and others see it as potentially divisive or offensive. I understand the position, as I've been around when other forums have degenerated into factionalism and infighting. Rather than add my voice to the discord, I'd just as soon enjoy the rest of the forum in a non-contentious manner. I enjoy gaming too much to ruin my own or anyone else's fun by being overly argumentative. I think y'all have a talented bunch of folks working on the project and I have no doubt that you'll continue to turn out a fantastic product that the community can be proud of. EDIT: And I apologize for calling anyone "silly" or "hypersensitive." I realize that doesn't help matters, and I didn't mean to be so dismissive.

OK, just a few points.
FIRST, there is no policy in the magazine for or against mocking spiky armor.
SECOND, if you don't want random people with quite variable kinds of affiliation with the magazine critiquing an idea, and you want feedback, just PM it to me or email it to iggyumlaut@gmail.com .
THIRD, cool it out. If you like the magazine and support it you should be aware that threads like this one really turn people off.
FOURTH, I have deleted and retracted my original response to trollman. The only way to know if the comic will work or not is to send it in, and I can tell you that we'd love us some comics.
Anyway, minor hiccup, we've still got a ton of cool new submissions coming up for next issue. Let's get back to work!

As usual, Calithena is the voice of reason.
1. As grand moderator pooh-bah here I'd like to emphasize again that there is no "edition wars" section here for a reason. I don't want edition bashing here. The primary goal of this board is to discuss OD&D and from there we can also bring in thoughts or ideas about "old school" games (mostly TSR) from the mid-1980's or before. Other games and other editions can go to other boards.
2. I'm going to lock this thread. If Calithena wants to start another one it's okay, but if he does please remember that the goal of this thread is to give others a preview as to what you are thinking of submitting, and NOT to debate whether someone's idea is worthy of submission.
3. Calithena has proven himself to be a solid judge of what is appropriate for Fight On! and if it's not appropriate he won't put it in. If he starts to put in stuff that others don't like, then it's appropriate to voice a concern. Don't do it before the material even gets written and submitted. In the old days if you didn't like something you could write a letter to the editor but with the internet people can trash each other's ideas instantaneously. I'd rather this happens on a different board, thanks.
In general the mood on this board is great, and then suddenly someone will go berzerk and start beating on somebody for some reason. Please don't do this here. :-(
