Thaimos again brings his flail to bear, hoping to end the life of this eldritch horror.

Breath of New Moon's ears perk at the sounds of combat... could she dare to hope that someone else is out there? She listens for any sounds that the Foreman is still nearby, and if she hears nothing she will give a few tentative tugs at her entombing bonds.

EYE OF THUNDERA yells, "FLAME ON!" while swinging the torch at the treebeast.

The Sovereign Mask of All Who See makes sure there's room for the Eye of Thundera to enter the fray. If already so, he will swing his flail once more.

ROUND 3 begins (I'm using a different d6 for you guys today, let's see if it makes a difference)...
Shadow (3) misses with his flail. Servitor aims for the eye-ring and (6) his tulwar swings true! (d10=10! d12=3) The five-eyed plant-beast is now a four-eyed plant-beast.
Thaimos (4) and Eye (3) and Soverign Mask (1) all miss.
Any other actions for round 3 before the beast retaliates?
MEANWHILE...
Thug Slave fishes a shiny copper penny out of the muck... and another! Perhaps there are more... but he dares approach no closer to the raging battle while the beast yet lives.
MEANWHILE
Hearing no sound of her captor Breath tugs at her wrappings (strength check = 11) and is able to free her left hand! You will be completely free of your bonds in (d6 = fine time to roll a 6!) 5 more rounds if you choose to continue struggling.

THE EYE OF THUNDERA is frustrated with his failure to hit, "How in hell can this beast so easily avoid this flame? JOIN YOUR BRETHREN ON FIRE!" (referring to the torch)

Thaimos begins screaming madly, now, not understanding how he can continue to miss the plant creature. Reaching inside him and touching something prehuman, he again brings his flail overhead with two hands and strikes at the thing.

The Mirthful Doomed readies his new weapon. He looks back behind him for a split second, half contemplating retreat, half expecting more monsters to come in from behind and catch the party in a pincer attack.

2nd Half of Round 3
The Plant-Beast concentrates its attacks on its mortal enemy Servitor of the Yellow Sign. (2d6=3, 6) He dodges its tendrils but then is struck by a thick, trunk-like appendage for (d10=7, d10=9) damage!
Reduced to -3 hit points, Servitor's body is flung across the tunnel as he takes his dying breath (any brave last words?)

Servitor of the Yellow Sign spits out his last words through a deathly grimace. "For Hastur!!"

Fated to Die taps Thug Slave on the shoulder and motions to take a step back. "Should another hero be slain, we shall turn our backs and flee."

As Breath frees her other hand and begins franticly unraveling herself, in the nearby tunnel Round 4 begins:
Intiative: Party 5, Plant-Thing 3
Eye of Thundera (5) and Thaimos (4) both swing and miss.
The Mirthful Doomed readies his borrowed weapon, swings, and hits! (6) He inflicts (d10=6, d8=5) 5 points of damage. A solid blow, but the creature fights on!
Last call for actions before the Plant-Thing's turn....

The Shadow swings again and will continue until either the plant beast is dead or... it runs away.

Stunned by Servitor's death, The Shadow freezes up and almost doesn't get an attack in. But his warrior instincts take over and makes a mighty but ineffectual (4) swing.
The plant-beast retaliates against Shadow but is showing signs of weakening (1) and cannot harm him. But it manages to flick one of its long, whiplike tendrils past him at Fated to Die, striking him (6!). The glamorous Ulfire Man suffers (d10=4, d6=2) 2 damage from the sting, reducing him to 3 hit points.
Your intentions for the next round?

Fated to Die and Thug Slave retreat back around a corner or back out into the main tunnel or wherever they need to go to avoid another whiplashing.

Round 5
Initiative: Party 4, Plant-Thing 1
Fated to Die and Thug Slave move a dozen yards down the monorail tunnel, back towards the crash site and hopefully out of reach of the vines.
Soverign Mask flails away but continues to be baffled by the Thing's bizarre anatomy.
The Shadow rears back and hollers "Why... won't... you... DIE!" His flail aims true and impacts between the creature's four remaining eyes, right in the middle of what might be its "head" for (1d10=7, 1d10=7) 7 damage! It bursts like a pumpkin, revealing a stringy mass of pulp within.
The Plant-Beast twitches one last time, then is still.
Nervously you scan left and right for any sign of more plant-things, but you see none. Instead you see: A dozen yards behind you, a headlamp's light sputters as the helmet sinks into the water, ownerless. Thug Slave lets out a terrified moan: "Master... GONE!"
Breath of New Moon, your adventure continues in Episode 03: The Foreman's Hideaway.
Fated to Die, your adventure continues in Episode 04: The Nest.

The Mirthful Doomed examines the dead plant thing cautiously, occasionally poking and prodding it with his weapon. He looks around for any sign of his lost flask.

The Mirthful Doomed examines the dead plant thing cautiously, occasionally poking and prodding it with his weapon. He looks around for any sign of his lost flask. Now that it is dead, the plant-thing appears more absurd than frightening. It is a bizarre hodge-podge of leaves, roots, vines, bark, and branches seemingly thrown together at random by an insane maker. Mirthful recovers one of his two flasks (the other shattered when it hit the beast) but, alas, the contents are spilled. You briefly consider refilling it with the murky tunnel water, but decide against it. You have 5 days liquor-rations remaining (1 flask per day).

Do any parts of the plant look edible?
The Mirthful Doomed takes some of these roots and leaves and stuffs them into his sack. "If I get out of here alive" he whispers "I'm going to distill you. Then I'm going to drink you."

Judging from the bitter white sap that dribbles from its wounds, you believe it to be part of the dandelion family, and you quite enjoy dandelion wine!

I'll collect up as much of the sap as I can and put it in the empty flask. Maybe it will come in handy later?

Thaimos considers the plant thing. He is shaking considerably less this time, more from adrenaline than from abject fear. The nausea has not returned, much to his surprise.
He begins looking for something suitable to bury Servitor. He uncorks his wine flask and pours just a bit, a thin stream, onto the ground to honor his fallen friend.
"I'm still not entirely convinced that thing's dead," he says to his companions. "Should we burn it some more?"

The Thing is really dead, I promise. Mirthful is dissecting its corpse and it does not stir.
