Do the ruins look like anything, as in, a farmhouse, a keep etc?

GALAX looks at the ruins with interest. "Fascinating. Nice place for a lair... or an ambush."
He continues to hold the spear and shield in a non-professional, almost untrained manner.

Liam volunteers to scout out the ruins to check for signs of an ambush or a watch or guard of some type.

FENNICK to Liam: "May Sarenrae's luck be with you."

Do the ruins look like anything, as in, a farmhouse, a keep etc? Too large for a fortified farm, especially in the hills...maybe an old fortified inn?

Nigel looks around for a small hill or outcropping where he can crawl up to to get a overview of the area.

Nigel looks around for a small hill or outcropping where he can crawl up to to get a overview of the area. No good there looks like it was built on the high ground here, you can't get anything over looking the ruins...but you could find a vantage point that would allow you to just look around if you wish.

Liam looks for the best vantage point to observe the ruins for a period of time. Once he finds it, he'll slowly and carefully make his way to it and settle down as hidden as he can remain to observe.

Nigel plans on observing the swords of his group and how they advance, looking out for them.

Erimus squints to the snowy ground beyond the ruin, searching for any sign of footprints leading away...

Liam looks for the best vantage point to observe the ruins for a period of time. Once he finds it, he'll slowly and carefully make his way to it and settle down as hidden as he can remain to observe. Moving around the ruins from a distance you can make out the foundations of two out buildings, the remains of a wall around the structures. This wall is no longer something that would deter anyone as there are more breaks in the wall than standing portions. The main structure though has two walls still standing and you can see the upper floors collapsed and one portion is leaning on the remains of those walls. The structures are made of fieldstone and timber, the ruins though give no indication of what the building was once dedicated to. From here it is not possible to see where the tracks lead to as the snow here is only in the shaded portions of the ruins.

Liam will monitor the main structure for a short while to see if he spots any movement or activity of any kind. He'll also keep an eye out on the wild life in the area - pigeons roosting in building or other birds in that area. Activity that he might not be able to see could be keeping birds from going near the area or spook the pigeons from their roost.
Once he does so, taking note of either no activity or whatever activity there is, he'll make his way back to the party and let them know what he's found out.

OOC: Do the tracks lead directly here, and then not lead away? If so, we may be looking at a huge ruined pile.

"We should look at it from another angle, yes?"
Is this in the middle of a valley or any high ground around it maybe, a different aspect from somewhere else?

"We should look at it from another angle, yes?" Is this in the middle of a valley or any high ground around it maybe, a different aspect from somewhere else? Nigel There are three small hills, at the top of the third is where the ruins lie...looking at them now it seems that maybe the other two were used for farming...as the ground around does not seem as overgrown as the other hill in the area.

"I don't think there is anything else to it; one of us needs to try and sneak up there and scout it out."
"I'm willing to do it, but it might do to wait until late dusk or early nightfall when I can do it unobserved."
OOC: What's the phase of the moon? And the current weather conditions? If we have morning fog like we did the previous morning, it might also work to wait until then.

FENNICK opens his eyes with a cough, ending his meditation.
To Liam directly, but loud enough so everyone could hear: "Did any of the tracks leading in seem like the tracks of one carrying a heavy load, like we saw back at the caravan?
To everyone: If so, it is likely our Lady Corrine is present somewhere in those ruins. If not, perhaps we have been lead astray."

((... The fog was this morning as you found the ruins midday.)) OOC: Sorry, wasn't clear in my last statement. I meant we might want to wait until the next morning to see if the fog returned if the moon was too bright.

"These are the same tracks we followed from the scene of the battle. The prints then indicated several of the creatures we are tracking were carrying something heavy."He pauses... "Of course... there was never any actual proof that the objects carried were prisoners, though I believe that to be the case based on the other two sets of tracks."

"I have to admit I am not to up on waiting anymore, I am not going to fight against the group, but if we have watched and see nothing perhaps they have gone beyond this or underground."
OOC:I am not sure if the vision was shared with us that showed a cave I believe.
Is the terrain around so plain that it makes it horribly difficult that if if we circumnavigated the 'inn' at a mile and came up the other side?

Nigel From what you can tell it would take no more than an hour to circumnavigate and come around the other side of these hills AND that is with trying to be on the stealthy side...(Of course that is your opinion. )

Liam flashes a reckless smile and says, "I'll be happy to check it out now!"
"Someone watch my pack?"
Liam drops his pack and gear but keeps his axe, bow, and quiver.
He then moves to position himself to keep one of the smaller dilapidated buildings between him and the larger structure and drops into a crotch to start making his way up the hill.
