(OOC: Ronin, do you have "bind wounds after battle" houserule? If so, GALAX will bind Kib's wounds for hp effect. If not, the following is window-dressing.)
GALAX wordlessly and very professionally binds Kibs' wounds, ensuring that Kib applies a lot of Dwarf spit to the dressing.
GALAX then goes to each goblin body and cuts off their ears. He glares at Erimus at his "Bring 'em on" speech but doesn't say a word.

((I had not thought of it so I will use this house rule and will post it up in the house rules section.))
((Bind Wounds – Heal 1-3 hit points after each combat if 5 minutes spent. Can bind unconscious character’s wounds to revive (with 1 hp) after 5 minutes.))

Nigel spends time around the trap door looking around it and such, is it solid or well built enough that he can see thru cracks for light down there? Is there any torches or oil around for light.

The swords are ok...the work is not goblin but neither is it quality craftsmanship, you could use it. Looking through the arrows there are probably a dozen arrows that could be used....the rest...not worth even the parts. Liam takes the dozen arrows and stashes them in his quiver. OOC: If someone takes up Laric's character, Liam will be happy to split the arrows with him. Then he picks up one of the swords and gives it a few test swings. "Well, it isn't much - but I'll use it until I find something better." OOC: Did Liam find anything else on the bodies? Coin, mayhaps?

FENNICK carefully approaches Galax from the front and says, "It is good to have you back brave Master Galax."
Fennick then takes a deep breath and with a cough starts to search the immediate area for other possible trap doors, hiding spots, markings of Loviator, unusual features, etc.

Yes on the bodies of both are large reed like whistles, Kib instantly recognizes them as goblin signal whistles. There is also a small pottery container on the second goblin that from the sound of what is inside hold some kind of liquid. The top has a wooden plug in it.

FENNICK points these tracks out to the rest of the party.
To Liam: "Track Master Liam, do you have any insights about these tracks?"

To Liam: "Track Master Liam, do you have any insights about these tracks?" OOC: LOL. "Track Master Liam" makes him sound like the fourth member of the Beastie Boys...Liam hands the pottery container over to Fennick, "I suspect this is something you should hold on to, Brother Fennick. Possibly a healing potion? We'll have to test it to be sure."He tosses one of the whistles to Kib, "Here. A trophy of sorts for you, Master Kib!" and then pockets the other, as it might come in handy for causing a distraction. Then Liam begins examining the tracks noted by Fennick at great length and detail to see if he can determine anything from them. - are the tracks coming and going or just one or the other? - if both, do they appear to even out (same number of tracks coming as going or more one way or the other)? - do they all appear to be goblin tracks? Or at least made by similarly-sized feet/boots? - how old do the tracks appear?

Once we have more time, learned Master Nigel and I will have to examine this potion more thoroughly." Fennick opens the container (as long as it is easily opened, he will not break any seal on the container) to give the potion a sniff to see if he could quickly identify the contents. Afterwards, he places it in his pack.

Fennick pauses for a deep breath and clears his throat, "As for our rush to battle, I do believe we are in agreement to be more careful in our future endeavors."

Afterwards, he places it in his pack. "Ah ah ah d--n, some potions are activated by opening, some by sniffing, the nose is the most sensitive sense we have, some believe because its so close to the brain. Anyway, when we have time I can check it for magic, but not today." Nigel

FENNICK pauses before opening the container.
To Nigel: "Ah, thank you learned Master Nigel. You may have saved us all ill fortune."
FENNICK places the container in his pack without disturbing the wooden plug.

OOC: It tends to spook the wild life a little, but... it's effective for hunting goblins and front-ers.

The tracks after a few moments you believe to be made by goblins who were going out to relieve themselves while on "duty". The number of coming and going are harder to compare BUT you do believe that these two might have made the latest tracks and that there hasn't been anyone else up here since last night. The tracks in age vary but with the weather changes of late it is harder but you can see sign of much older tracks, ranging in weeks old. The sign of waste in the woods would enforce that opinion as well....

You believe that light does get through the cracks in the trap door, but as far as light coming from below...you would have to re-open it and see.

"I will watch the trap door, if you gentlemen want to search around here."
When they are ready.
"I will open it and you can cover it with a crossbow or such? Liam's Bow?"

"Looks like it is just the tracks of the watch as they go to relieve themselves and nothing more."
"I think the faster we can make our way below, the better chance of surprise we'll have. If they change the guards out soon, we'll be found out and they'll sound the alarm."He looks at Kib, "My skills with track and trail will do us little good below, Master dwarf. You are better suited to lead us from here on."That said, Liam secures his bow and quiver to his pack and shoulders it, cinching the straps down snugly. "I have no shield, so I can bear a torch if need be."If he does not end up using a torch, then he'll wield sword in his right hand and hand axe in his left. Otherwise, he'll carry the torch in his left hand and sword in his right.

@liam - no signs of a bolt hole or other access?
@kib - I have your back. I can stand behind you and keep you from being flanked as well as stab over you with my spear. NIGEL, you should stay to my back. We'll keep you from harm.

Liam raises his eyebrows, "I didn't see anything in the immediate vicinity, but that doesn't mean there isn't one. If they did extensive tunneling into one of the wooded areas below the hill, then a score of trackers could spend all day looking and not find it."
"But if you'll allow for a bit of time, maybe Kib and I can check out the surrounding ruined buildings..."
If everyone agrees, Liam will spend a half hour or so searching out the ground level of the two smaller ruins, searching for another entrance/exit.

Very well. Kib shall lead the party into the goblin's lair. As he descends, the stones seem to speak to him, telling not only of traps and secret features, but also whispers of the hands that crafted this ruin and the purpose of its construction...
(edit: cross-posted with Liam) Once all are in agreement, of course... Kib will not rush down the hole until there is party consensus. Liam's idea has merit, though Kib of course feels more comfortable underground, he is aware the humans may not share this opinion.

"Do we have any torches? The Goblinus have adapted to no or near light, unfortuntaly we have not."
Nigel looks at the Goblin clutter for torch material.

OOC: Fennick and Laric both have lanterns and it looks like about 4 vials of oil total. Ronin, do you want to NPC Laric until we get a replacement? Or just call him dead and we can loot his body? Looks like Nigel had a lantern, as well, but verhaden dropped group before we even got started.
Oh, and Nemmet the boy has some torches.

Oh, and Nemmet the boy has some torches. Right now consider him a silent partner, if things need to he will act but until he is taken OR he can be traded out he is a bipedal pack mule!
