Hi everyone! This is the thread for artists who want their work to appear in Fight On! Remember, the work stays yours, you can re-sell or re-publish it to your heart's content, even before I do if you want. We just ask for the right to publish it in the form its originally published in in the issue it's originally published in in perpetuity. Ownership and all other rights stay with you.
Here are outstanding things from the old thread that could still use doing. I think Kesher is going to take the Mistworld gondola, a floating metal airship in a world of strands, but if someone else wants it please pipe up - we only need one of these. Also:
- animate metal monsters that look like giant springing bear traps with small, powerful legs
- terrible haunted mansion on a lake, maybe with an elasmosaur peeking out of the water
- a party fighting said elasmosaurs and a giant maggot-thing (maggoth) on the shore by the mansion
- a wizard's library inhabited by a flesh golem and 7 skeletons (maybe with slight hints of electrical energy around a couple of the skeletons)
New post shortly with some new stuff that would also be useful.
Fight On! would not be what it is without its artists. Keep up the great work!

- a water naga in a room of green serpentine columns
- all of Sham's cool Troglodyte characters (trog warriors, hordes of trogs chasing adventuring parties, troglo-knights on riding lizards, etc.) - level 2 of the Darkness Beneath by yours truly is in the issue, and it's full of trogs.
- patchy trog monks with flaming fungus bombs would also be a plus
- a halfling-sized or smaller mole-man talking to human adventurers in the mouth of a very small tunnel entrance, that a human would have to crawl through
- a tolkien-style barrow wight
- adventurers carousing between adventures (wine, women, gambling, song, you know the drill - one of those would be nice)
- Tekumel art! Jakalla's foreign quarter.
- Tsolyani officials with elaborate hats.
- a horrible, ghoulish tekumelani sorcerer almost all the way to becoming a Shedra - he serves Black Qarqa - with optional mrur attendants
- a dilapidated clanhouse, with optional nakome squatters
There are a couple more pics we may need, but this will be most of it. Thanks and let us know what strikes your fancy!

Tsolyani officials with elaborate hats I really hope someone draws this. I love the clothing styles of the Five Empires.

I got the gondola. I have no idea how it's gonna turn out, but I got it.
Mist World is a tremendous milieu; Mr. Marsh shared a pdf of his original manuscript with me a couple of years ago after a conversation on a forum. I'm glad to see it finally appearing, even piece by piece, and especially appearing in Fight On!

Has a deadline been given for the current issue artwork? I may try some Trog pics if there is still time. Somewhat off topic, but I wanted to say my new-ish gaming blog is now part of the RPG Blogger Network! I will use it on occasion to expand upon my submissions to Fight On, compel visitors to buy issues ;D ghosttower.crithitcomics.com/

We need at least a few trogs, so the deadline is 'as soon as you can get them to us.' Thanks!

Cal, what do your trogs look like? Like the ones on the back cover of the module B1? I've got some half-finished trog art that I could redo that may be suitable.

Hi Ant -
Please finish it! Your vision for trogs will be fine.
In my mind Trogs look sort of like the D&D standard image of them, except maybe a little more crusty and inhuman. We've developed a little trog under-society that includes warriors, lizard riders, big chiefs, and flaming puffball-throwing patchy monks as a subspecies, so that leaves lots of room for imagination. Sham has posted about some of this stuff and his vision might be good if you want a more detailed guide - this material is on his blog ("Sham's Grog 'n Blog").
I wish I was a visual artist so I could understand the process better. My main advice is just to take an idea, make it your own, and have fun with it!

flaming puffball-throwing patchy monks as a subspecies I quite fancy having a go at this one. By "trog" do you mean the newt-like troglodytes?

Sent in a lizard rider & Trog peon drawing! The warrior looks pretty bad-ass on his giant monitor lizard

The legend returns!
Thanks carjack. We can use all of those but I have an image I can use for the barrow wight in a pinch already, so maybe do that one last.

Hello,
Has anyone taken any of these:
- terrible haunted mansion on a lake, maybe with an elasmosaur peeking out of the water - a party fighting said elasmosaurs and a giant maggot-thing (maggoth) on the shore by the mansion
I'd like to start drawing one of these. Of course I have no idea what kind of mansion *exactly* you are looking for...
Also I could draw the metal-legged beartrap-like things if you want.

Hi Motor!
That would be awesome. If you could do the house (with elasmosaurs, maggoth, however you want it - general image the way you vision it is fine) ASAP and then follow up with the metal 'bear trap' golems that would be tremendous. Let me know if you have any questions.

I can do the Flesh Golem in the library and/or a Troglodyte monk.

I've got a very basic sketch of a troglodyte monk throwing a burning puffball, but I don't know when I'm going to be able to get back to it to finish it, so if someone else wants to take it, go ahead.

I think I thanked both you guys offline, but if not I got it, thanks! Good stuff.
Motorvinen, please let me know how those pics are going! I need them ASAP so if you can finish either or both very soon that would be highly appreciated. Sorry to rush you, it's just where we are in layout.

Right. I'm working on the Maggoth-fight picture. Hopefully it'll turn out fine... I'm also interested in the magic-users chamber with the skeletons and the flesh golem, but I really can't promise it's going to be very "accurate" (for example: I have no idea about the size of the study)...

Cool, thanks!
Motorvinen, after you finish that maggoth pic I guess I'd say hold up on those other two. We're in way double OT getting this issue out and we don't go back and reformat that text any more than we have to.
There may be some other pics later in the issue (do you do Tekumel?) that you could do instead, if you're inclined. Thanks so much for your help either way and I look forward to the mansion/maggoth tableau!

I'll try to do and send the library-picture tomorrow. Unfortunately the Tekumel world is totally new & strange to me...

Cool. As it turned out last night got eaten by tax returns (my wife somehow thinks that's more important than gaming - hmmph!) so I could definitely take the pic today. You're a mensch!

I think we need a pic of James M.'s 'mysterious crystal hemisphere' for level 4 of the Darkness Beneath. Contact jamesm for more direction if you're interested in illustrating some of his work.
People working on trog pics should know that they're likely going to be delayed for issue 5 along with this decision. I have to get FO #4 out this month and there's already a huge dungeon of mine in it because of the Arduin crossover. Putting the finishing touches on TDB 2 may be more than we can handle. Apologies to all trog artists and you will get a free PDF of 4 as well as 5 for your trouble.

Is it too early to say what you might need for #5? I'm keen to contribute more art, but I've missed the boat for #4 for various reasons.
