I have issue #3 of DIFFERENT WORLDS and it seems like a decent enough magazine, at least of the same caliber as the old WHITE DWARF or SORCERER'S APPRENTICE magazines of the day. (I'm not sure it's as good as the old DRAGON magazines, mostly because DRAGON also has stuff for MA and Boot Hill and other TSR games that I played a lot more.)
The questions are (1) What do you think of the magazine, and (2) are there any particular issues or articles that are noteworthy enough for me to track down?

I liked that it was one of the few to have RuneQuest specific articles. There are index lists out in the internet for you to review. www.diffworlds.com/dw_01-12.htm=

Yeah, I've seen a few online index sites but sometimes the titles sound cool but the articles are meh. Or the other way around. Just hopin' for some personal insights.

I seem to remember Different Worlds having some good stuff. I have a couple of issues lying around (33, 35-36, 44, according to my list), but I was never able to consistently find it at gaming stores.
I’m looking through the index right now (my books are still packed in the garage from a recent move) and I remember The Star-Devourer, by Steve Perrin, as a decent short superhero/horror adventure, in #35, and Kabbalistic Magic, by Simcha Kurizky, in #36. And, I think, Contemporary Ideas about the Necronomicon, by Richard Kaczynski in #44.

I have 1 through 16 so I must have liked them well enough to keep buying them. I stopped when I moved and there were no stores nearby that had them. It has been years though since I've pulled them out so, I have no current opinion. =

I found DW to be a great resource. There were a couple of clunkers over the 45-some-odd issues (the RQ cult of "Indlas Sommer" for example). But for the most part it was quite good.

I love my complete DW collection. I don't use it much for D&D, but use it tons for RQ. It also had some decent Traveller stuff.
Among the last few issues there were two Blackmoor adventures that look cool, haven't ever actually used them.
I have used a few of the pullout adventures from the earlier issues.
