I'm trying to wrap my mind around this sentence, maybe because English is not my native language:
This is how I interprete things: when lycanthropes are encountered, roll for the number appearing (2-20 according to the MONSTER REFERENCE TABLE). If the roll is 2-4, its a pack. If the number rolled is 5,6,7 or 8, it's a family. If 8 to 20, roll a six-sided ; on a. roll of 1-4 it's a pack (big one), on a 5-6 it's several family packs. Am I getting it right?

That would seem to be correct from the reading.
The distinction of family pack over other pack is interesting at is ascribes the possibilities of all a families alliegances and struggles to a number of lycanthropes, but what about the other packs?
