Next Wednesday, July 24th, we'll be having an Old School D&D night at Zero to Hero Comics in Fullerton, CA. We'll be playing slightly houseruled B/X, but I thought readers here might be interested. It may turn into a monthly thing, or even more often, who knows! Seats are limited, so If you'd like to reserve one or get more info, shoot me an email at "redboxfullerton" at the yahoo.

Good luck! It's a wee bit of drive from San Diego, but I hope you get a good turn out.

If you guys ever put together a mini-con weekend in Escondido let me know; I'm about a 30 minute drive up the 215 from there.

FYI...This turned out awesome. I changed my mind at the last minute and decided to throw down 3 LLB style, no supplements. Three of my regular players (the WMLP crew) showed up, as well as 3 noobies. Of the noobs, one guy had played 4th ed a bit, but the other two had basically no experience with tabletop gaming at all. These guys were a perfect fit for OD&D! Amazingly, two new guys played MUs, used their spells for creative problem solving, AND didn't die! Unbelievable! (It may have helped that I pointed out just one thing to them before play began: you each have between 8 and 18 hp; one attack does 1-6 hp of damage; therefore you could conceivably die from just 2 or 3 successful attacks).
We'll def be setting up another game soon. Too much fun.
