jackvance.com/Passed away a couple of nights ago. RIP Jack Vance thanks for helping inspire D&D and some great books. I will read, once again, your novels in memoriam this weekend.

I was always entertained by the whimsy and uniqueness of the fantastical world of the Dying Earth, amazed by the sheer eloquence and wit of his writing and I have loved the adventures of Cugel the Clever, Rhialto and his other wonderful characters from start to finish. RIP Jack Vance, Patron Saint of Vancian Wizardry and inspiration to so many.

RIP.... I had a heck of a lot of fun reading Dying Earth my son last year. We both cracked up over Cugel's mis-adventures.

He was one of the great writers in sf and fantasy. I enjoyed his style and humor. The Dying Earth cycle, the Tschai cycle and the Moon Moth where really good and I'm looking forward to reading the Lyonesse trilogy.
