Hey All, I've noticed a couple of mention of "7th print" LBBs in the last six months or so. But over at the Acaeum they only describe the 1st thru 6th prints. Was there really a 7th print? If there was, does anybody here know anything more about the 7th print -- when it was printed, how many were printed, and in particular what differentiates the 7th print from the 6th? Any help much appreciated

My 3lbb's OCE White box doesn't indicate which printing it is, my Supp I is 10th, Supp II is 8th, Supp III is 7th. My guess is the OCE is 6th print.

My guess is the OCE is 6th print. The Original Collector's Edition (OCE) is certainly what's generally "known as" the 6th print. However, I've read that there are several minor variations of the 6th print, so there were probably several printing runs of it. I guess the question is whether or not there were any reprints of the OCE which which were different enough to be considered a "7th print"? Or was the 7th print not an OCE reprint at all? I have a set of 3LBBs (no box, just the books) which are apparently a 7th print because there are no prices given for the list of TSR products given on the very last page of Men & Magic. I don't know whether or not these booklets were originally been part of a boxed set, but I can speculate that they probably would have been sold as the contents of an OCE boxed set. I would be very interested to know whether there are any other distinguishing features of the 7th print. I guess I could do a painstaking line-by-line comparison with a 6th print... but maybe somebody else has already done so?

There were also definitely official TSR photocopy printings of the supplements (and perhaps the LBBs, although I'm less sure on those), which should definitely be called out as 7th+ printings

Well alrighty then.
Last night I scanned and OCR'd my (supposed) 7th print of M&M.
In coming days and weeks I will (painstakingly) verify and correct the numerous OCR artifacts and errors.
Then I will be in a position (with the help of software diff tools) to compare the (supposed) 7th print M&M word for word, character for character with the 6th print of M&M which I have scanned, OCR'd, and verified previously.
I'll report back if I find anything worthwhile...

I have a set(had to make my own box!) of LBBs. Supposedly 6th/OCE print. I'm happy with it. Don't really care if its actually a 6th, 7th or whatever. Except that, I wish it was a 1st print!

I don't really "care" which print the 3LBBs in question are, I'm just interested to know if there genuinely was a 7th print. And if there was, whether it differs notably from the 6th. Given that the OCE was "in print" from 1977 thru to 1979, it wouldn't be unreasonable to think that it may have been printed more than once in that period to satisfy demand.
