Interesting because: A) It's a free Kindle download, something I think more RPG publishers should be paying attention to. And, B) You can play a T-Rex Knifethrower. Challenger RPGI haven't actually read it yet, but it does look interesting...

Anything with a T-Rex Knifethrower has to be a complete win. (Just the visual alone has been worth my attention!)
...oh and EXALT for sharing!

Just found this free in PDF on RPG Now last night too, before I saw this post. They had some extras, too. Haven't had a chance to read it yet.

I've just skimmed it, but it looks like it has some interesting mechanics, and a tone somewhere between Encounter Critical and Synnibar, by which I mean intentional superwacky.

Hey Kesher, Thanks so much for mentioning my book! It's things like that which remind me why I wrote it, revised it, put it out for free, and then revised it another dozen times. You can find a complete list of all links to the book (in all formats across the net) on the website here: www.challengerrpg.com/. I've also put up links to some free adventures and other things such as a free character sheet PDF. If anyone has the time to read the book and let me know what they think, I'd really appreciate it. I've paid for a load of artwork which is now in the works (artist is busy) and someone recommended I add in a 'game design' chapter for making your own classes and powers. Anyway, really great to see this here. It made my day. Many thanks. --David P.S. I'm not one of those crazy authors who will get mad at you if you tell me how crappy my book is. In fact, everything good in the book and all the improvements in the new revision are thanks to those fine people who did just that.

Hey, David---nice to see you here! Thanks for taking the time to register and comment. I at least will take a closer look and post some thoughts. I'll tell you right off the bat you've got a crazed imagination, which is all good in my book!

Thanks, Kesher. I couldn't ask for more than that! Don't worry about hurting my feelings or anything. If you see anything which needs fixing, feel free to point it out. The sandbox empire is awesome, by the way. I loved the 'best ever' character sheet photo. That's really cool. Reminded me of my old D&D games with the red book. I've actually been re-reading it recently trying to pick up tips and tricks on game design. It's amazing how much stuff you overlook or don't realize until you come back and read it again a few times. Lately, people have been saying: add ability scores, cut down on races and classes, remove skills, etc. Hang on, that's Basic D&D. I guess I might have to just make a new system to keep everyone happy. However, I don't like doing 'copies' so I'd definitely do some 'different' stuff. I guess Challenger had the 'throw everything in approach' and I've been tossing around ideas for a game based on 'anything you don't need: cut'. A really basic, simple, balanced, and arc-defined game. Who knows, though. If there are too massive of problems to fix with Challenger, feel free to tell me. I'm always designing new games. I've written hundreds over the years. Challenger just happened to be what I was working on at the time I discovered e-books.
