Just wanted to make available the gazetteer of the campaign I ran over the last few years - I included our very light d6-only system, but the content is all system-neutral and would work well with any old-style D&D. I hope someone finds it useful and enjoys my New Yorker cartoon-style "illustrations."

I'd like to see it, but I'm not going to pay for a service to download it.

Zeraser, could you use a free file storage site like dropbox? That would let everyone see your work.

You don't need to pay to download the file. At the top of the page next to where it says "Download" in big letters, click on the file name, which is "GMP". It will then open a download box for you to save it. zeraser, it look great. Nice and simple. I'm looking forward to reading it. Thanks.

Heh. Right. You can tell I haven't been playing video games for a while, but they could have made that a tad more obvious. Now that I've downloaded it, I can see it's a very nice little pocket setting guide! I like the ratio of wilderness to civilised areas, it's always been a pet peeve of mine that published settings tend to have too little "here be dragons" left on their maps.

I agree with Vile, that's not exactly obvious.
(On the other hand, maybe they don't want it to be? Otherwise, they might not get as many people to pay for their service.)
As to the booklet itself, I like it. It has just the right amount of detail for a referee to truly make the world his or her own. The names seem evocative, rather than merely descriptive. (I'm terrible with names, myself, so I envy those who can name things well.)
The rules seem like a variation of Risus: The Anything RPG. (And, if so, S. John Ross would be interested in seeing what you've done here.) But as you say, you could use this with any old school rpg.
Have an exalt for some very nice work!

Thanks - glad to see people are digging it!
The rules do indeed owe a big debt to Risus, but they developed in the direction they did out of a desire on my part to get closer to the pacing and tactical texture of D&D combat. We used them happily for a few years; only toward the end of the campaign did some of the more RPG-aware players start to itch for a little more granularity in their character mechanics (which could easily be added in the form of simple mechanical benefits that players have the chance to gain as they accrue dice). As you can imagine, this is very much a rulings-not-rules system that requires almost no rule-oriented prep, so making things up at the table is the order of the day for the DM.

It downloaded a pdf my up-to-date version of Reader couldn't open. Said it was a foreign format or it was corrupted. -SJ

I had the same experience as SJ above.

I'm getting a message that says
"This file can only be downloaded with SpeedyShare Premium. Get Premium Now!"
So, no.

It looks as if you must sign up for an account, though a Basic one is available that has no fee.
eta: Never mind! Basic account does not allow downloading!

I just had another look and yes, the file sharing site has changed their set-up forcing folks to sign up for a basic account. That wasn't the case before. I'd post a link to the file myself but I've obviously renamed the file from its title "GMP" and I can't for the life of me remember what I called it.

Oh. Thanks for clearing that up! I'll revise my post up-thread so I don't mislead anyone else.
