Can't believe I missed this the first time I looked at it but... can you elaborate a little bit on what the Hinterlands DD Supplement will contain? I'm planning to update the Immersive Ink part of the DD roadmap when I next have time. Regarding Hinterlands specifically, I have so much material that I "could" include that I'll need to be very selective about what I do include. If I make it too big, it might never get done. There will certainly be a wilderness map with locations, and a bunch of dungeons maps with keys presented (more or less) in the one page dungeon format, as well as a map and details of the central town ("Ket" in my game, but I may rename it since I subsequently learned there is a "Ket" in another supplement). I may or may not include some broader elements of "story arc"... I still need to think about this, especially since my own Hinterlands campaign evolved into something completely different from what I originally had planned. Perhaps I will include both stories as example of how a campaign could unfold? Perhaps I'll include neither and leave it up to the referee? Perhaps these will just form a vague list of adventure hooks? Also, there are a whole bunch of my "house rules" which need not be tied specifically to the Hinterlands setting; I'll need to think about what is really core Hinterlands, and what are more generic house rules. But, for example, In my own Hinterlands game I excluded clerics in favour of Sister of Mercy/Men of Faith and Templars. The warlock class was also very popular. I put considerable effort into Hinterland's custom spell lists, spell names, spell descriptions, and also spell books, which I would like to include, but this material is probably enough for another supplement in its own right! So. I short, I still have some serious planning to do. I suspect Hinterlands will ultimately be a series of supplementary materials rather than a single volume. The divide and conquer strategy will give me more hope of actually getting stuff done, and will also mean that folks can cherry pick the pieces they are more interested in. I have no formal plans yet as to the delivery format (PDF/hardcopy), whether they will be free/paid, whether they will be illustrated/unillustrated, or a release schedule. Obviously I want it to be as glorious as it can be (which would be illustrated hardcopy), but I won't be looking at this seriously until after a) the DD hardback edition is out, and b) the six one-page adventures I'm currently sitting on are out. Hope that helps

I'm a big fan of all things Hinterlands so any plan that gets some of the supplement in our hands faster is ok by me.

Are there still plans to release a plain text version of the rules for house-ruling?

Are there still plans to release a plain text version of the rules for house-ruling? Hi kirbyfan63, thanks for your interest in DD The plain text alpha version of DD Reliquary (the hardback edition) has been available since August 2013. Since then there has also been a beta version, and a professionally proofed gamma version (the final pre-hard copy release). You can download all three revisions here. While I'm here, now seems a good time to review the TODO list I posted a while back... 1) Short DD adventure contest, Done! ( download the four submitted adventures). 2) Converting three of my own short adventures for DD, 3) Converting the DD text and tables into a plain text (markdown) version, Done!4) Making the plain text (markdown) version available for download, Done!5) Transforming the plain text (markdown) version into a hyperlinked document, In progress...6) Publishing the hyperlinked version online, 7) Collecting art for the hardback edition, Done!8) Arranging the text, art and redoing all the tables for the hardback edition. I also squeezed in an "offical" illustrated DD character sheet (download here, the last item on the page); and, with substantial assistance, established a home for DD play-by-post games. Check it out If you've been following the DD Google+ Community you'll know that late last year there was some discussion around the hypertext version of the DD. It's a big job but I've recently been getting some help from several enthusiastic DD fans. Generating HTML from the markdown text is done. Generating HTML tables from the source text is "done enough". There's still some work to do on hyperlinking the key words/phrases, but the whole of it is now looking "plausible" and pretty close. I'll post an update when it's all done.

Add a grappling hook to the equipment list. Hi eldrad, there's no grappling hook on the original equipment list so I don't think it's imperative that one be added to DD's equipment list. It's a great item for a supplementary equipment list, for sure. While I'm here, I might revisit that old TODO list again: 1) Short DD adventure contest, Done! ( download the four submitted adventures). 2) Converting three of my own short adventures for DD, In progress... (the first one will be available in a couple of days now!) 3) Converting the DD text and tables into a plain text (markdown) version, Done!4) Making the plain text (markdown) version available for download, Done!5) Transforming the plain text (markdown) version into a hyperlinked document, Done!6) Publishing the hyperlinked version online, Done! ddo.immersiveink.com/dd.html7) Collecting art for the hardback edition, Done!8) Arranging the text, art and redoing all the tables for the hardback edition. In progress... (mostly done; but now on hold).

B-b-but you added Magic Missile and Thief! A Grappling hook is a staple of the adventurer who delves deep. Just one little item added to the otherwise perfect equipment list! Oh well you grognards are always stubborn.

Oh well you grognards are always stubborn. I don't think I qualify as a proper Grognard; I wasn't at Waterloo for one thing FYI--magic missile was scratched from DD Ref Rules V3 (and later). The thief wasn't really "added" so much as "recognised" since... well, since the thief has been around since the earliest days.

I'm looking forward to seeing your three adventures.
Are they dungeons you already run, or are you writing them specifically for this release?

I'm looking forward to seeing your three adventures. Are they dungeons you already run, or are you writing them specifically for this release? Thanks for your interest Red Baron Two of the three are revisions of my winning entries in the one-page dungeon contests; these were originally system neutral, but I've expanded them somewhat and stat'd them out specifically for DD. Both for low level (aka Normal tier) players. The third one is a longer scenario including a wilderness and several dungeon areas which I originally wrote for the Darkness Beneath series in Fight On! A few issues of FO! slipped by without including it, so I eventually decided to publish it for DD instead. The original version was system neutral and was intended as a dungeon level 8, so for pretty high level players. I've now completely revised (and stat'd) it for mid-level (aka Heroic tier) DD players. The first two are basically ready to go--I'm just trying to figure out what to do about these composite glyphs... you'll know soon enough
