Poking around on youtube I came across this channel. The owner seems to own and play every edition since the beginning of D&D to the present. I have only watched 2 of them, but I found them to be very interesting. www.youtube.com/user/lawsonbeast/videos

I concur. I recently found his channel as well. His break down of Men & Magic was great. I'm still waiting for his promised breakdown of Greyhawk though........

Hi Both, I'm really pleased that you enjoyed the channel. I recently deleted it for several reasons, primary of which was that it was my first foray and I was finding my feet. The new channel to replace it is here: www.youtube.com/user/grognardgames and the launch video will be going up in the new year. The new channel will be myself and one of the editors from Frog God Games. I'll be discussing the Greyhawk LBB, but first I will be jumping into the wood grain box, the White Box (the differences) and then I'll cover each additional book to complete the set. We have interviews lined up with current OSR luminaries, discussion of the origins of the game (including the first version of D&D at 50 pages and the150 page follow up that came before the wood grain box in amateur publication to interested parties), appendix N and more. That's aside from RuneQuest, it's BRP derivatives, the other TSR games / publications and then all the OSR materials as well. Stay tuned and thank you for watching! Martin

Martin,
Just watched your video on Appendix N, and I quite enjoyed it. It's a great introduction for someone who is interested in this stuff, but who may not have a sense of D&D's literary precursors. Your enthusiasm comes though and that makes it very watchable.
Also, I'm with you in your opinion of the awesomness of Michael Moorcock.
Blood and souls!!
P.S. I couldn't stop looking at your books and games! Runequest 3!

Most of the collection is out of camera shot, and some of it is in another room entirely, but it will come out bit by bit for discussion. We'll be doing a series on Appendix N and other influences, which gives me an excuse to do more research and read more books Thanks for watching and for taking the time to comment, it's appreciated. Cool little video intro to appendix N material for people who haven't delved into the literary sources of D&D much as yet.
I'm with you on Moorcock being awesome, but as I'm currently re-reading the Elric saga I'm left thinking that alignment owes more to Anderson than Moorcock. Either that, or if they were going for Moorcock they got it rather wrong.
At any rate, I'm looking forward to seeing more videos in the series!
