AFS Magazine is 36 pages long & will be sent by parcel mail. Each copy costs $5.00 for stamp/shipping, ink, paper, mailing envelope, PayPal fees, and a small investment in the binding machinery I purchased. It includes old school gaming modules, adventures, tables, and articles with a nod to the writings of H.P. Lovecraft, Jack Vance, Robert E Howard, and Clark Ashton Smith. This is old school grass roots publishing produced in the spider filled ruins of my basement, ring bound in the style of Chainmail(1971 Gygax/Perren). This magazine is available in print only. If you are located anywhere within the USA then shipping is included in the cover price. If you are outside the USA and interested please PM me your address and we can work something out. You can either roll up a $5 bill, or check payable to Scott Moberly/AFS Zine and mail it to Scott Moberly 23733 SE 277th Pl Maple Valley WA 98038 - or paypal is accepted, just go to www.paypal.com and my paypal is srmoberly at yahoo.com. If there isn't a spot there for your address, then PM me. Thanks for your support I printed up the first copy and it turned out awesome. Table of Contents Plot Hooks/Mini-Adventures: 1. Interesting idea.
One question.... why print-only?
(Please note that "to emulate the way things were in 1971" is a perfectly legitimate answer.
Also, the first two editions of CHAINMAIL were saddle stitched. I don't know how this would affect your costs.

- Thanks, 'to emulate the way things were in 1971', yeah mostly this I would say . Also I like the idea of self publishing things on binding machinery and hand mailing them out, sort of in the style of The Dungeoneer or similar and I think people will enjoy recieving it in the mail. At least this is my hope

You had me at Micro Dungeon: Cavernous Haunt of the Giant Albino Penguins. I think I'm starting to get burnt out on pdfs, so I appreciate a good hardcopy! Soon as payday hits, you have my custom.

This sounds awesome! My little zine came out a few weeks ago, print only as well, and it was a lot of fun to work on. I went to a printer to get it copied, but printing it out on binding machinery sounds rad. Good luck and you'll get an order from me!

It looks fantastic and I'm sure to be purchasing a copy! I know there's always someone to pick, so I shall try to be as agreeable as possible... :-)
I can't stand comb binding..... sorry. I'd love this so much more if it was saddle-stitched/stapled.

Hey, no problem, sorry the binding is not to your liking. I do think it presents and reads well, especially for $5 shipped so hopefully you will give it a shot. I am but a humble servant producing zines in my basement

Ordered! Congrats on getting your first (I presume) zine out the door! What we need now is a DIY D&D zine hub of some kind. If I had the time (goodness knows I don't) I'd set up a blog/website to keep the print-zine oriented updated. They're coming out fast and furious now. Monk: I really enjoyed WM&LP #1. Thanks!

Thanks for the support from Monk and others from this board. All previous orders have been produced and shipped.
Last night I toiled till the waning hours of darkness under the dim glow of an oil lamp in my basement producing zines - armed only with a trusty dirk to fend off large spiders and other unnatural denizons. As a humble servitor with a fear of the incorporeal I drank cups of mulled wine to keep my sanity and continue the production. Today shipments are being sent to Cypress CA, Allentown PA, Erie PA and somewhere in Brazil. Thanks again

Will be posting a skeleton preview of Issue 2 soon. Was wanting issue 2 to be more adventure driven. So far have adventures: Into the Black Kingdoms (Howardian, set in Hyboria), Lost Cult of Dagon (Lovecraftian, featuring Voormis and a Brain Canister), and Isle of Waste (a Mutant Future adventure set in 2066, the Big Bomb dropped in 1946, takes place off the Isle of Crete). Will be looking for submissions on Issue 2 if anyone has early interest. Have a handful of copies of AFS 1 printed up currently left Some copies previously mailed should be recieved very shortly and interested to hear any feedback Thanks

I received my copy yesterday and I have really enjoyed it.
The random encounter at tavern table is already seeing use in my game.
#2 really inspired me to do a North by Northwest type of campaign in which my players are mistaken as three famous thiefs. Hopefully I can do something similar in the future....

What about Albuquerque, NM? Paypal tells me the payment went through. Hmm, don't see Albequerque in my shipping notes, nor do I see it when I reviewed the paypal ledger from my end. . Can you PM me your name and perhaps a copy paste of the paypal transaction you received? I am happy to sort it out, thanks
