I just had to crow! I picked up a complete, very good condition game for $10! :-)

A good news / bad news thing. I never much cared for the game, but I love the fact that it has so much OD&D historical context and use the map in many of my "old school" games as a default setting. Congrats on a good deal!

Congrats! I was on the verge of getting a New/Mint SW copy from ebay, but backed out as it would have been $45-ish with S&H. *shock*

Congrats! I was on the verge of getting a New/Mint SW copy from ebay, but backed out as it would have been $45-ish with S&H. *shock* The only thing "wrong" with this set is that there's some minor red-ink underlining on one page of the booklet. It's otherwise in excellent "used" condition. We were at the ColdWars Historic Miniatures Convention in Lancaster, PA this AM. Marv, I'm not holding my breath on the play-ability or enjoy-ability of the game itself, but the historical aspect was also my thing. And to now be able to complete the "Recommended Equipment" section of M&M pg.5 with all original material is kinda neat too. ;D

Well done Sean. I found my copy in a thrift shop years ago and couldn't believe my luck. Never would've thought I'd find the game here down under. It gives a nice sense of completion.

The really crazy bit of trivia, is that it was printed at "Stackpole Books" which was less than a mile from my house! (though no longer at that location)

Nice score! Interestingly, I bought a copy in great condition from a coworker a few months ago for the same price. I'm using the map, as Fin does, as the setting for my latest game. I used the tables in Vol. III to generate the castle denizens and placed random ruins (using everything from one-page dungeons to JG material and a few LotFP products) on the other marked spots. Towns include Holmes's Portown (I added a large inlet in the top center of the map to allow for this one), Homlett, the KotB, and a few selections from Midkemia Press's Towns.
I've considered actually laying out the game board at the table to the players can see the area, but then that gives away all the cool sites to loot!

I picked up my copy many years ago used....very well-used. The previous owner was obviously a D&D player, as several of the hexes had little castle icons taped onto the board.
