Sounds interesting. Will you take player who's never played Chainmail before?

Absolutely, since I've never actually played Chainmail, either! It'll be a learning experience for us all... All you need to do is decide if you want to be a Hero or a Wizard. If you'd like to look at a copy of the rules, PM me...

Okay! Count me in. I've got a copy of the rules, and I think I'd like to play a Wizard, if that's cool. I'll look you up on Google+ now. Looking forward to it!

You are in, and you is a Wiz. I'll hangout, as it were, assuming no connection issues, right at 10!

Sure. They work just as explained in Chainmail. Which means... - They can turn invisible until they attack
- They're not harmed by arrows
- They ATT/DEF as two Armored Foot
- They can see in the dark
- They can naturally use either a fireball or lightning bolt
- They have access to all the spells listed in the rules
- They need to roll on the Spell Complexity table when casting
- They can counterspell (or be counterspelled)
- They can use magical weapons(!)
That's mostly it, I think. I'm making this up as I go, but I'm also going to allow any Hero or Wizard to have up to 3HD of followers, human or otherwise. Depending on how it goes, I may limit the number of Wizards who can participate in a single adventure... I'll likely tweak other details as well (like allowing a choice of being able to turn invisible, use ESP, or levitate); we'll see! Sorry you can't play this time!

Wow, they sound unstoppable

Well, no character's unstoppable to a good DM... I did also forget that, while they have the whole spell list available, they can only use six at any one time... Also, and this is probably a big deal, I'm not paying attention to any sort of "balance" as far as encounters are concerned.

Is it instant death like regular Chainmail?

We just finished playing, and it's funny you asked that, because, no, I didn't use that rule on the Fantasy Combat Table, but I'm leaning towards it for next time... I'll be writing up a summary on ye olde blog...

Turns out, it was very similar to all the other of Kesher's games I've played in:
- Different rules,
- Same overall level of fun.

Dang, I just saw this. Maybe next time. coffee - How was your connection? I was okay for the first hour or so. Then I got booted, but I found out that I could still come back in the chat. I.e., no video, no audio, but the chat window still worked. I've done a bunch of overdue scans and cleanup on the computer this weekend, so I'm hoping things will be better in the near future.
