I have for years known that I have a problem of starting too many projects and completing too few of them. So I want to go on record with some 2012 New Year's OSR resolutions. 1. Finish and publish or otherwise make widely available the Outdoor Survival map replacement I discussed here: odd74.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=workshop&action=display&thread=31752. Complete the original edition *secret* project 3. Make some serious progress on my new OD&D campaign - as in define the goals and some of the constraints and perhaps start some of the preliminary activities (I should write a post on what I am thinking of soon). I don't want to make it a goal to actually begin play for a few reasons. Well, there is my list - I don't know if anyone else is interested in naming their resolutions here or not but go ahead and chime in if you'd like.

Hit my 10 player limit in my game store OD&D game. First session had 6 players, but the word is getting out and I could hit 10 in the next session or maybe the 3rd...
And DM my first con game at GaryCon.

I completely missed this thread! This would be an epic OSR project. Of course, as much as some folks (including myself) would love the map board thing, it might be more practical to just publish an A5-sized booklet that consists of 2-page OS-style maps. Numbered hexes, terrain features, castles/towns, no place names, explanations for the effects of the terrain features, some example locations on the "main" map (JG/Carcosa/IotU-style), etc. And of course, maybe offer larger maps separately... ;D The maps don't necessarily have to connect. The "main" map would be the "improved" OS map, and the others could be (as you hinted at) a desert map, an ocean/islands map, a jungle map, a swamp map, a mountainous region map, etc.

I will try my level best to prepare for publication something even better than Carcosa and Isle of the Unknown. ;D

I don't make New Year's Resolutions so I will just say what I want to do in the coming year. The big thing is getting a regular campaign up and running again. Beyond that I really don't know what else I would like to see.

I'd like to have at least one REGULAR group for OSR gaming, I'd also like to continue building a large setting/campaign that will be co-designed for both LL and Savage Worlds with my 15 year old son. We've begun the initial design a couple months ago, and it's looking very cool.
I'd also like to publish 2-3 "one-sheet" type scenarios for OD&D/Delving Deeper, Labyrinth Lords, Savage Worlds, etc.

I will take these up in a new thread. I have done a little work on this project today, and will post some more about it soon.

My resolutions this year included two directly OSR related things: • Publishing a dungeon/module, • Playing at least three adventures in X-plorers! I’ve also said I’ll be writing and publishing a game that’s 2 to 10 pages long, and at least on adventure, supplement or hack for an existing game. A free pdf on the internet of course qualifies as publishing. I’ve also commited to run at least one session of Pendragon. Might not sound like much, but I think it’s suitably challenging for me.
