Just what it says on the tin.
No, not the one that says "Canned Orc, just heat and serve."
No, not any of the ones that say "Beer".

It’s a game group in New York that plays with Moldvay rules.

New York Red Box is an open-table gaming group. It's got two ongoing campaigns: - Glantri uses the '81 Moldvay rules + house rules, starts characters at first level, meets weekly, and is scheduling its 96th session. It's run by Quendalon (Eric M.) and a rotating cast of guest DMs.
- The White Sandbox uses the '74 3LBBs + house rules, seepage of stuff from other sources, and gradual adoption of stuff from Adventurer Conqueror King. It starts characters at third level, meets monthly, and is scheduling its 39th session. It's run by me, although I keep trying to get other people to sharecrop it.
Both of these are always open for new players to drop in and try out. Other one-off and mini-campaigns of games both old and new are played pretty regularly; Saturcon is one recurring venue for arranging these. It's nice to post on the forums to say you're coming, but not necessary - folks could also PM me here. The group is organized via forums, which we use to do just-in-time scheduling and blue-book campaign events in between sessions, as well as chat about sundry matters. We generally play at a cafe's upstairs dining area at W. 28th St and 5th Ave., although sometimes we play at people's apartments, the Twenty Sided Store, the Brooklyn Strategist, etc. The cafe facilitates the drinking of beer, but does not serve canned orc and we try not to bring in outside food, drink, or humanoids. We're an outgrowth of nerdNYC, and in turn inspired Red Box groups in other cities.

Long and hard, across many message boards and trackless wastes, ever since hearing rumors that you were moving to NYC, have I sought to get gronanofsimmerya to a NYRB game.

As a lifelong Red Sox fan, I must assert that this "New York Red Box" has an utterly blasphemous sound to it. It should be killed.

Please, sir. I don't like this trick, sir. My tongue isn't quick or slick, sir. I get all those ticks and clocks, sir, mixed up with the chicks and tocks, sir. I can't do it, Mr. Fox, sir.

If its called Red Box, shouldnt you be playing BECMI? The Glantri campaign does use B/X, I am the one who has failed to get with the program with my LBB-only White Sandbox campaign. Although with the influx of rules from Adventurer Conqueror King which is most directly influenced by BECMI, my campaign might more properly be called the Pink Sandbox.
