The first 50 boxed sets have shipped!
The problem is that my box-maker only sent me 50 boxes. When I contacted him to find out where the rest of my boxes were, he told me he thought I didn't need the rest until May. This did not make me happy. I have canceled my contract. While I can make boxes myself, I cannot make them fast enough to get everyone's orders shipped asap.
So I have ordered a huge number of boxes from a company that has been making boxes for 111 years. They will have all of my boxes to me within two weeks. In addition, their boxes are going to be twice as durable (thicker material with double-secured corners) as the first 50 that have already shipped - so they should easily last for a very long time.
As a way of making up for the terribly long wait everyone has had to endure, I'm going to ship a brand-new WhiteBox module out with all the remaining boxed set orders. It is going to be the only time this module will be made available for WB. It is my way of saying "thank you" for all your patience.
And for all those folks who have been wondering when they can order a WhiteBox boxed set, I'll will begin taking further orders on March 15 (for shipment beginning on April 1).

That sounds like a great bonus, John. I would appreciate any added box durability and certainly a module as well. (Although it seems like the first 50 folks would want it too, considering they had to wait a while as well.)

I suspect it's a question of postage. Tossing a module into a box not yet sent probably doesn't cost anything but a new mailing would. Maybe John could make the PDF availible to those 50, or something not requiring an actual cash output on his part. Just me musing out loud.....

That's what folks who already have their boxed set have suggested - free pdf for them.

Well, first I couldn't wait for my box set to arrive, and now I hope it doesn't so I can get the print version of the module. Thanks for the updates.

I'll just be chanting "March 15th" and rocking in a corner for the next few days....

I would be interested in information on this box making company (the one that's been making boxes for 111 years).

But I would rather have information on the box company that fell through right now. I wouldn't be above sending a letter to them, or the BBB for that matter. Best TB

Best TB Remind me when the new boxes arrive. I'd hate to recommend the company before I see the product. But they have been most helpful and encouraging, so I do not think we will be disappointed.
