Outdoor Survival (2nd prnt) says movement through swamps costs four movement points per hex and along mountain trails one. Page 17 of TU&WA (4th prnt) says swamps cost three movement factors and mountain trails two.
How do those of you who've used the Outdoor Survival map for OD&D play the discrepancies?
Thanks.

Keep in mind that Outdoor Survival originally was designed to be a "hiker in the wilderness" game and not a "castles in the campaign" game, so the scale of the original map won't be appropriate for a campaign setting.
When Rob Conley made his Southlands map (inpired by Outdoor Survival) he keyed it at 5 miles per hex, which seems to be a good number and matches most Judges Guild maps (I think).
If you decide upon a hex size (5 miles or otherwise) you simply default to traditional movement rates accordingly.

OD&D calls for 5 miles per hex, and that seems to be what the rules had in mind. OTOH in FFC Arneson suggested 10 miles per hex. <shrug>
