Finarvyn was kind enough to set up a forum here for a PbP game using Albert Rakowski's Terminal Space supplement for OD&D. For anyone who hasn't read it yet, Terminal Space can be downloaded from here: terminalspace.blogspot.com/
I'll be using the WhiteBox rules with ascending armor class, and some tweaks of my own. A free PDF of the WhiteBox rules can be obtained here: www.swordsandwizardry.com/whiteboxpdf.pdf
I'm not the most original guy in the universe, so I'll be steal... er, I mean borrowing, ideas from all over the place, including a few concepts and ideas from Chris Robert's Terminal Space adventure (to give credit where it's due).
It'll be a 'points of light' sandbox game set in a galaxy in chaos. The Old Empire collapsed some time ago, leaving a few isolated planets and pocket empires ruled over by warlords or space barbarians. Most of the rest of the galaxy has experienced varying degrees of technological and cultural regression. Sort of D&D meets Space Viking.
To give you a taste of what I'm envisioning:
Dwarves, once active in the Empire, have become indifferent to the plight of former Imperial subjects and the current chaotic state of the galaxy. Most of them have retreated to the Clan Worlds, venturing out only to chart space in search of something.
Elves, once the undisputed masters of the galaxy, always arrogant and aloof, now find themselves hunted to near extinction. Many worlds offer bounties on Elves, particularly any involved in the former Imperial administration.
Halflings were once a carefree people, happily living under the protective umbrella of the Empire. When the Empire collapsed, so did their once idyllic life. The Shire Worlds were easy pickings for Hobgoblin raiders, space barbarians and worse. Their colonies are now charred embers, their people a dying race, enslaved, murdered and even sacrificed to long forgotten alien gods.
Humans are, well, humans. Nothing seems to faze them for long. With the Empire gone though, humans now have an opportunity to assert themselves in a new galaxy.
So, if you're interested, click on the link below and sign up. I'll be posting more info over the next day or two.

About me: this is the first PbP game I've run, but I've been reading a lot of other games, so I think I've got the general hang of things. Of course, advice and suggestions are welcome, too.
Should you have any questions, feel free to post them here. Many thanks.
