Idea:
Your starting gold at level one is equal to your Charisma score times ten. In addition, your charisma score also determines your ability to collect gold via street performance. Street performance includes sword swallowing, fire walking, snake charming, singing, etc. For each hour of street performance, roll a six-sided die. The number you roll plus charisma bonus equals the amount of gold you earn.

It's an interesting idea but not one that I'd use. Charisma is already one of the most important stats in OD&D. Tying one's initial gold to it as well would only make it more important still.

If the society is one in which everyone has to haggle when buying things, perhaps Charisma should affect the prices you pay. +1 loyalty bonus = 10% discount?

Storytelling - a percentile skill
Base Storytelling = (INT x 2) + (CHR x 2)
Fighter types and thief types add d4 points per level, magic-using classes add d6 points per level.
The storytelling skill represents a combination of knowledge and innate ability. It can be used to tell entertaining stories and jokes and to sing songs. It might also be used as a general knowledge skill, as a bluff or fast-talk or acting skill. At a large penalty (50%?), a successful roll might indicate the PC knows useful information about an unusual monster or magic item encountered in the course of adventuring.
