So I had a dream last night that my fiance and i were playing am RPG called Hunting and gathering, a Stone Age RPG, It was a BX based game where you rule over a small tribe of your race (I played a H. Erectus, and she was playing a H. Sapien in a mixed race tribe.) the main focus was survival and technological advancements. The thing is the dream was pretty detailed, and I still remember a lot of the art, and rules for the game. Was this just a supremely nerdy dream, or does anyone know if a game like this exists?
(sorry for cross posting on Piazza, and BHP, but this is really bugging me.)

There will be as soon as you write it. Get to it, before the dream fades!

You could take a look at "Thrills and Chills" from Dragon #68, which was an article about setting D&D in the Ice Age and has rules for prehistoric magic and basic hunting & survival.
Steve Jackson Games put out Tribes, which was a caveman board game but I've never played it.
I also think there was a small press caveman roleplaying game published in the late 1970s, but the name escapes me. It came out around the time Bunnies & Burrows did, during that spate of funky, wonky basement press rpgs.

I have a copy of "Tribes", but never got a group up to play. It reads as a more "academic" simulation than "game". The goal was to mate, produce offspring, keep them alive, and thus increase yor tribes population. Stuff people did before TV and the internet....

Dear Lord, you found it. I checked the issue and the art from the article was definitely in the dream. My dream painted a very different setting, but this was definitely the inspiration. I can't even remember the last time I broke open a Dragon Magazine, much less one from 1983. Thank you very much. I seriously can't believe some one found it. I'll try and write what I recall and see if I can't make something of them.
