Got into the topic of discussion today with my sister about d&d. She basically stated that she was very let down by it's prospects with the few games she has played. The main things she didn't like about the game where how complicated she felt it was and how rule dependent it could be. I told her that it really just had to do with the people and systems she was running under and that i should run a game with her and my brother. She was very keen on this idea and after looking at the od&d manuals she really loved the simplicity. My brother has always loved d&d but had always been too young to play with my current group who are all in their early to late 20's and he is only 14. So i have decided to start a new campaign with just them. We only had time to roll up characters today but here in the next day or two we will get the game up in full swing. I am running the game straight btb basically well as much btb as you can get with the LBB lol with a few exceptions such as 15+ Str grants +1 to hit and damage for fighting-men and level limits i am still throwing around with what to do with them.
As far as characters go my sister rolled up a cleric and my brother rolled up a Hobbit fighting-man (lol) that makes me smile... but when things get rolling i will post a log here and maybe on my blog since it's been barren for awhile now. the game itself will prouboly center around some dungeon crawling at first and then from there i will gauge where to move it towards next.

Well we started the game this evening did not get very far because my sister went on a date. My brother decided to roll up a new character before hand and made an elf. As was stated before my sister is playing a cleric. I started both of them at 3rd level and decided to run keep on the border lands as i always do with new players. Basically i gave them a general overview of my world and all the details of why they where adventuring together etc. and they where off on adventure.
When they approached the keep they found it to look abandoned until they saw figures sillently gazing down upon them as they approached. I warned them that demi-humans are not welcomed in human lands in my world and magic is viewed with suspision. My sister hailed the guard and after some questioning they where allowed to enter the keep. They immediatly made for the tavern for news and found that some rumors where flying around about a cave to the north that used to be a dwarven mine full of treasure to be taken. After a while they decided to head for the keep but first my brother wanted to hire some henchmen so he jumped up on a table full of guards and announced his proposal. One of the guards (a fighting-man) tried to pick a fight for the interruption and my brother cast charm person on him then again asked if he wanted to travel with them (of course he did) the guardsmen also brought his brother to accompy them as well. The next morning they decided to head out for the cave but where first hassled by a drunk elderly man who had claimed to have been to the caves and would escort them for 1 Gp. They did not have any money so instead with much suspicion of course offered him wine instead lol. The traveled to the north and found the caves but no signs of life with human remains surrounding them. This is were we left off... not much to tell but i will fill in as the game continues.

Session #2
We sat down and played for a little while tonight. The game started off with are band of intrepid adventuers heading into the caves of chaos (section G for those that have the map). Entering the caverns they could smell the stench of death. To their right they heard a loud growl echo through the cave and to their left they heard water trickling. First they went left then came to two passages. Not agreeing at all which way to take they split up taking one each of the henchmen with them through a different passage. My sisters character the cleric found bodys strewn along the floor and remains of weapons. After searching she found no signs of life nor treasure. My brother on the other hand encountered an owl bear!
Letting out a cry for help my sister and her henchmen went to join in the struggle and only with all of their combined efforts taking down the owlbear. My brother decided to skin it for a trophy and wear it as a cloak lol. After that encounter they decided to leave the side passages and comtinue left. Again finding the next passage they entered strewn with corpses and a freshly killed gnowl. My brother while searching the bodys also attracted the attention of a gray ooze which they both found actually frighting out of character?
After awhile of quarling with the ooze my brothers armor was coroded away so he made some makeshift bone armor out of the skeletons and corpses (good improvasation i gave it to him). After realizing this was a dead end they headed off right coming to a cavern larger then the rest with a pool. Inside the pool they saw the glimmering of strange fish and also the slight glimmer of something else. immediatly my brothers elf rushed off towards the glimmering without even checking the contents of the room and before i could even finish my description lol and was suprised from above by two more oozes who actually took him down. My sister rushed to his aide and her and the henchmen fought off the oozes gained the treasure from the pool which was a golden goblet. After the encounter she revived my brother from death (i use special death rules especially with new blood) and they decided to head back for town.
This was basically the lowdown of what we has time for tonight. Hopefully we can have a full on session later on this week.
