Hello all!
I’m starting a new online old-school style campaign, to be run using Swords and Wizardry Complete on Saturday nights, at 1800 – 2200 GMT, over video chat using Discord. This is going to be an exploration of the first fleshed-out mini-campaign ever published, the legendary ‘Night of the Walking Wet’ by the late Jenelle Jaquays, incorporating several of her other lesser-known but classic dungeons, as well as a few other bits and pieces added to the mix for fun. This campaign will very much have an old-school feel, with dungeon-delving and wilderness exploration, intrigue and hack and slash. On the fantasy scale, far more Robert E. Howard than J. R. R. Tolkien. I'm using S&W to simulate OD&D as it was in 1977, and the only rules additions I'll be including - aside from a few house rules - are from Dungeoneer 1-6 and, basically, Best of Dragon Magazine I.
A little about myself, I’ve been running games for thirty years, and just finished a half-year campaign covering the first three ‘B’ modules, based around the Keep on the Borderlands, and that's just whetted my appetite for more. (And yes, the Keep will be making an appearance in the campaign...over the years, it's become one of my signature elements, and besides, the one big omission from NotWW is a home base for the PCs.) I make my living as an author and community activist, and have been involved in the OSR on and off for a couple of decades.
If you’re interested in taking part, please get in touch through reply or PM.
Thanks!
Richard
