Leaving the Elven village, your team escorts Rahasia's father back to the elven embassy in Critwell to make the preparations to close the embassy. The process will take a couple of days and then back to the elven village to leave for the Brightlands. Protagoras stays behind in the village in hopes to establish a personal relationship with Rahasia. After a few days all of you are back in Critwell and learn over the rest of the day some news and decisions made.
1. The Caves/waterfall where Vomi and carb were captured was seiged by the Shieldlands military and any humanoids there were captured and/or killed
2. Heiferan and a cleric of saint cuthbert went on a caravan expedition and have not returned. They were due back four days ago
Carb, Bella, Vomi, Carb, and Meno decided to take up the task and try to find Heiferan and the missing Saint Cuthbert cleric. All of you stay at the embassy and in the morning you all take your leave.
This leaves Denorana and Torlak on what to do next. As they are deciding, you reflect on the holy symbol found on Rahib. Whose diety was that? It was not the old one so is there another cult?
Then over breakfast as the embassy of making preperations to leave one of the watch enters and ask to speak to your group. Upon learning of the reduced numbers he says, " if you are still interested I have two missions I have need of adventures. First the town of Stallanford to the northeast is having problems with orcs and can use some assistance. Supposedly these humanoids seem well organized. The second task is Hakeem a merchant for the iron guild is looking for guards to escort him to Sir jenlar estate in Furyundy. They are friends but Hakeem has stated this is not an escort mission but Sir Jenlar has an opportunity for more work. Also there are other adventurers that will be coming with you. They are here now "

An armored elf, of more military than wizardly bearing, is curious at what is happening with the elven embassy. He stops to watch, and perhaps sate his curiosity. If adventure is in the air, it might be his ticket to some money and knowledge

The embassador sees the armored elf and motions him over. He says, " name is Nidarrious, embassador of the elven enclave and I see you have come in interest for adventurer. Even though we are closing the embassy to return to the elven village. These two gentlemen have been in great service to us and are looking for new members to join the ranks"

"Palandar is as good as any. And yours, dwarf?" His voice and manner of speech is a bit rougher than you would normally expect from an elf, although he doesn't seem hostile, just maybe a little wary

A pretty, young woman in platemail, wearing a holy symbol bearing a rampant unicorn prominently on her chest, steps forward.
"Hello, gentlemen," she says with a nod,"I am Alianora, Cleric of Ehlonna. This shady character with the stupid smirk is Jinx," the woman says as she gestures to a leather-clad man bearing a longbow lingering at the corner of the room. "He's been following me around like a puppy for days," she says with an exhausted sigh. "I am hoping our forthcoming task will either distract him or drive him off."
The dark-haired man with the smirk chuckles. "I didn't mean to bother you, lass. You just looked more interesting than ditch-digging."
The man comes forward to shakes hands all around. "Cheers. Hi. Call me Jinx," he says as he works the room.

Nidallous greets each of you and then says, " as I was telling Torlak and Denoran here I have three missions I have need of adventures. (OOC: for those not famailier with Greyhawk. Keoland is a country to the southwest and is home to the largest communities of elves. With the wars between the humanoids to the northwest and SE and the country you are in now and with your neighbor to the west it is very dangerous. The other country Highfolk to the south will take you past the land of IUZ the main bad guy in greyhawk and the vast humanoids and evil clerics)

Torlak and Deneron are willing to go wherever the group decides. Although they are more leaning towards the valley of the mage.
"We have ties to the embassy here so I think I would like to help them get back to the Valley. Beside, I grow weary of this area", says Torlak.

"The Valley of the mage is Northeast of the bright desert before becoming the barrier peaks mountains. The valley is in the foothills of these mountains. We will head east to the village and then we all will travel south to admondfort the capital of shieldlands. From their we we boat accross the bay to the county of urnst in the port town of Dunelv. From there we will form a caravan and travel through the county of urnst to the desert. we will stop and gather provisions . If you decide to stay till then end we can reward you. "

Nidallous says, " well we are providing the food and shelter your group is assisting with the protection. Any side missions/adventures we encounter along the way when there is a little down time, restocking in a town, will be up to your group discretion. Also when we get to the county of urnst there is a ancient place I need your group to explore. There is an elven artwork/antiwue in some reasons we need as a gift of tribute to the arch-mage that runs the valley. I just need the antique. The rest of the items you find you can keep or if it is elven we can look to buy it from you. When we arrive at the valley each of you will be paid 300 gold pieces each as a bonus"

Palandar says to the others. "It looks like we will be fellow travellers. Although I am an elf, my mystic talents are meagre, mainly geared towards deciphering old or magical documents. There will be no fireballs from me. But I come well equipped for war."

The rest of the evening passes and you are all provided lodging here at the embassy. In the morning the final prep is made and a couple of wagons plus your group leave critwall and the shieldlands. For some of you it may be quite while for you to return. Each of you, unless you bought one, is provided a horse or pony. You then make your way out the east gate heading to the village for the last stage of the escape.

On your way a man makes your way to the caravan as your group thinks about intercepting this, the embassador says to the stranger, " i see you made it. Thank you for taking the offer. Welcome to our caravan, please introduce yourself"

A short, late twenty-ish man of very short stature, in decent enough but well worn brown and gray clothing and having a wineskin and travel bundle, of long hair and beard; he stops beside the caravan and makes a slight bow, smiling at the group. "Greetings...Master Dwarf, Good Elf, Lady of the Church...(here he bows even more deeply)...and Master Jinx...I am Ker Tethwan. I have been staying in Critwall some two years now in..ah..temporary lodgings. A few of the best taverns in Greyhawk here, yes? To my matter, though...we have mutual acquaintances...Carb and Bella. They informed me of your expedition and suggested that I might find place among you, being a man of modest but useful talents suited to the road ahead. I met with the ambassador late last night..none too pleased with my timing, I'm afraid. Nonetheless I secured permission to present myself to you. Here I am. Have you need of another man?" (O.O.C.- If any sort of Thieves Cant exists he will communicate to Jinx that he is of the profession).  |

Your group leaves Critwall and make your way east. You cross the bridge with our your small caravan and the road is pretty clear. As you leave into the countryside Torlak and Denoran will wonder if they ever see their friends again. The rest of this summer day is pretty uneventful and you make small talk today. At night there is no campfire and the elves seem content with their fruits, vegatables, and dried meats.
( OOC making a campfire? any watches?)

If there is enough moonlight, Alianora and Jinx will prefer no campfire.
But if it's dark-dark, then Jinx will build a small one.
Jinx will take first watch, but Alianora will volunteer for last watch, near dawn.

Your group gets off to a decent start and by nightfall you have arrived in the town of westkeep. Over the bridge out of town you will travel east the south east to the elven village. If you crossed the bridge and went NE you would have arrive at the criminal Delbar and his humanoid assistants at the falls. The captain told Torlak and Denoran the town took care of the humanoids.
Funny though Bella and carb did not mention any award from the town as a thanks nor did Critwall offer and reward either?
The embassador books the 2nd floor of the red leaf inn which serves food and your group is left to your own devices until morning.

Tethwan will offer a round of ales to his new companions and remove gold accordingly. He will also try to find, discreetly, anything out about Westkeep, Delbar and the Red Leaf he can, either by banter or eavesdropping on conversation and keeping an eye out. He had been under the impression there was at least a 300 g.p. payout for this venture, plus some road spoils. |
