I just sent out the surveys for Night Shift and delivered the ebooks to backers. I was on track to hit our May delivery dead on but while that's still a possibility, I'm told that the printer is slammed and the actual print books may take until June to complete. Ah, well, that's still darn close to the mark! I'm quite excited that this thing is really happening. Elf Lair Games is back in a big way, folks.

Well, I'm enjoying the KS backer PDF. As a little peek, for those on the fence, here is a short blurb on Classes in NIGHT SHIFT... I know. Weird, right?

Well, Night Shift is indeed the Game of Something Weird.
Yup, I'm super excited to get this into the public's hands. Alas, the printer tells me that they are SLAMMED with yearbook orders, and they may not actually get it done till June, so we might just barely miss our May anticipated delivery date. And I don't want to start selling the ebook before the physical books ara available, out of respect for my backers. I've gotten some positive feedback so far, though, so that's great news!

I get that, but I wonder if somewhere along the line you may want to rethink this. I would hate to have the game not get recognition just because printed copies aren't out. Backers have the PDF first, so that's a big deal. Maybe in a few weeks you might consider making a Print+PDF deal where folks have to buy both if they want access to the PDF. Just thinking out loud.

That has occurred to me as well, and I am considering options. Taking pre-orders with a PDF bundle available isn't a bad idea.

Yeah, that forces print sales and encourages folks to get the PDF quickly. What we don't want to happen is have the big reveal get lost if months pass and nobody can get copies. Ruins the momentum.

Can't wait for this to arrive. As much as I like pdfs, I prefer print. Though the "social distancing" era is going to require that I read more pdfs as it affects my ability to print as much as I used to.

I totally agree with you. I love having PDFs but spend most of my time reading print. For some reason I get to where I like to have both, maybe because I like to use the PDF version to make player handouts and stuff like that. Easier to copy-paste a few paragraphs than to type them from scratch.
