In Fantasy Role Playing Games, (Holmes 1981: 63), the author states:
"Eventually, War Games Research added a set of rules for dragon fire and magical swords to the back of their book of medieval rules."
I wonder if anyone knows which set of medieval rules Holmes is referring to, and when they were published?

Ok, with a bit more digging I was able to answer my own question. War Games Research kindly offer free pdf downloads of some of their old games. It turns out it is their fourth edition (1973) of their medieval/ancients rules which has an Appendix IV: Suggested Adaptions for Swords & Sorcery Fanatics. Interestingly this appendix appears to be absent in the fifth (1976) edition. Officially-sanctioned pdfs can be downloaded from the War Games Research site following the links here: www.wrg.me.uk/WRG.net/History/wrg.html
