Received a copy of Gaslands Refueled for Christmas. Since then have been modding hotwheels and scratch building terrain on the cheap. This rule set hits all the right buttons- simple mechanics, low cost buy in, DIY approach, and takes you back to the good old Mad Max Road Warrior wasteland days. And you now have something to do with all those old hotwheels from your childhood. I'm digging it. We've already run a couple simple Death Races.
If you have a few Matchboxes or Hotwheels laying around, you can pretty much play this game right out of the box. There's plenty of vids on YouTube explaining the rules and showing peoples builds. It has an ever growing fan base and makes for a great beer & pretzels game with friends and family. Some have compared it to the movement rules for Star Wars X-wing. I've never played X-wing, so not sure. Basically, if you're a Gamma World fan, Car Wars fan, or just a sick soul who embraces the apocalypse, you should buy this Osprey rulebook by Mike Hutchinson.

I have the original version and I agree, it's a blast to play!

I haven't upgraded to "Refuelled" but Gaslands is definitely a fun game. Modding Hotwheels cars is huge fun too.

I actually bought the original rulebook after getting refueled. Refueled turned out to be full of typos and editorial glitches. The original rulebook is also, in my opinion, organized better. If you have the original rules all the updates in refueled can be found on Ospreys web site. So, no need to buy the new one.
My son and I just got finished making war rigs for an upcoming game. If I get a chance I'll attach a pic of them.

Here's a photo of the war rigs. Mines the bluish one on the right. I call it "Mack Mauler". My son's truck is the copper clad one on the left. He hasn't given it a name yet, but I call it "Sting Ray". I jazzed up the pic with some of the terrain pieces we made or modified. I haven't figured out a good photo sharing option yet since Photobucket went commercial so I had to make it an attachment.
