Here is a not-too-generous article from The Believer, written before Gary passed. It is referenced in 'Empire of Imagination' and 'Of Dice and Men'. I thought the format of the article was very creative.

? that piece was written by Paul La Farge, not Gygax. It isn't about Gygax as much as it is the author's opinions regarding D&D, though he does talk about meeting Gygax in the article.
