All right, I'm back and we're ready to rock with another issue of Fight on! So, we already got some ideas about people's submissions in the other thread - what do readers here think they might submit?

How about a list of unusual and interesting objects for DM's to place in a dungeon for their players to find? Some useless red herrings, some with minor magical properties, some simply practical, others requiring a bit of thought to work them out, some just plain bizarre. I have a list of 50 of them so far, but could easily split it into smaller amounts, say random lists of 20 items each? Each item consists of a description of between one line to a small paragraph.

Hey, great idea! I have this resin Toltec Head that I had forgotten about. It would make a great enigma, ala Greyhawk, for a dungeon. Maybe it sends messages of doom, maybe it babbles, or speaks an unknown tongue. Heck maybe the creator of the Dungeon bought it as a souvenier, and didn't know what to do with it!

That's a great idea, Greyharp. Send it along - 50 sounds like a good number. :-)

I'm planning on submitting a customizable urban locale/adventure seed dealing with a warehouse. It's intended to be something a referee can drop into any large-sized city without too much trouble.

I'm up to doing some more art, if needed.

Is "Artifacts, Adjuncts, and Oddments" intended as an ongoing column? If so I have a few oddball magic items to submit.
I'll tackle the other articles I proposed in the previous thread this week/end.

Boy, do we need art. All the stuff suggested in this thread sounds good - Kensanata, I'd love you to work up some stuff on those maps, not sure whether I can still get it into issue 3 at this point though. Max, we do need magic items.
What are you thinking with the toltec head, thorswulf? That's a cool shtick but I don't see where you're going with it...short article with a pic?

I'd like to submit a brief wilderness adventure/sandbox, basically a writeup of a one-shot OD&D game I'm going to be running at a local con tomorrow. The idea is to deliver the classic setup of recruiting henchmen (in this case being recruited) & buying supplies in town, then setting off into the icy mountains (the AH Wilderness Survival board) in search of treasure, likely getting lost, and certainly getting into trouble.
My goal for this one-shot is to provide an encapsulated experience of old-school goodness that gives some sense of the open-endedness of a campaign, instead of the more restrictive feel of a tournament dungeon. To stay true to that openness I've tried to prepare as if I were getting ready to run a long-term sandbox game, but I've also given some thought to how I can guide the players in directions that'll be fruitful in a short span of time, and developed some house rules for shopping for exceptional items in town without spending a lot of game time on bean-counting.
Would this be more useful to folks if it were presented as purely a bit of setting with notes on locations, NPCs, random encounters, and the like - or should I present it as a kit for doing a one-shot game, using a bit more how-to authorial voice?

Kensanata, I'd love you to work up some stuff on those maps, not sure whether I can still get it into issue 3 at this point though. There's no rush. Here's a first draft of what I have in mind: www.emacswiki.org/alex/2008-09-06_Kitsunemori_Campaign_StartIf you like it the way it is, I'll spend some time on typos and wording. Cheers Alex

Tavis, Kensanata, that stuff is fantastic. Please send it along when you're happy with it. I don't know if we can get it into issue #3 or not, but we will get it in sooner or later, probably by #4 if not the current issue.

Love your maps kensanata and it would be great to see your work in Fight On! Thanks. I've gone through the piece again and will do so again in a few days. In what format should I submit this? What about dpi for the three maps?

I've got a couple of magic items + an illustration (for one of the items) that I'd like to submit. Same questions as the above, in what format and resolution should art be sent?

Art formats don't seem to be a big deal. Avoid monster file sizes. png, tiff, jpg are all fine.

Look for my submission in your inbox.
I can't remember if that account has a false name attached to it (it's really old), but my real name is provided in the message.

I emailed another submission for your consideration.
If you could find the time to respond, I would at least like to know you received them.
