Is there anyone here who speaks heraldry? I had a heraldry guy but he's become unreliable. Here's one of the blazons I need help describing in words: Attachments:

Also, the "blazon" is the verbal description. So the proper terminology is "Could you please blazon these arms."

Azure, a lion rampant or (plus whatever means 'forked tail') I vaguely remembered it was something like "fourche", but I looked it up and discovered that this tail is saltire. Also, doesn't that color look a little off? Almost purpure?

Not on my monitor. It's almost exactly the same tone as the band at the top of the "quck reply" box.

Not on my monitor. It's almost exactly the same tone as the band at the top of the "quck reply" box. It looks off to me, but then I'm mildly colorblind, so I decided to get hard numbers using the GIMP. Shield color in the pic is 0d6793. Azure (in the Wikipedia article) is 0000ff. Purpure is b22585, but it's 9200cd in the International Heraldry page, which is what I checked last night. Band at the top of the Quick Reply box, on my screen, is a gradient from 4684b2 (top) to 6598bf (bottom). So, I guess you're right that it's closer to Azure than it is to the Purpure, although it's got a lot more green in it than either Azure or Purpure... but close to the amount of green in the Quick Reply bar, which may be why you see it as being the same (although to me, they aren't the same at all.)

Well, it's a tad darker.
But noplace NEAR purpure, at least to these aged eyes.
On this monitor.
