I discovered that a 14-year-old boy at church has recently been introduced to D&D. (I happened to see that he had a hand-drawn overland map that looked suspiciously like a D&D map, and I asked him about it.) He does not have any D&D books, and he excitedly took me up on my offer to give him some spares later this week. This boy's first D&D books will be: Men & Magic (hand-made from print-outs) Monsters & Treasure (hand-made from print-outs) The Underworld & Wilderness Adventures (hand-made from print-outs) Supplement I: GREYHAWK (hand-made from print-outs) Crypt of the Lilac High Priest (an AD&D dungeon module for 1st-level characters by yours truly) The Mountains of Dream (an AD&D campaign module of the Dunsanian sector of the lands of Carcosa, also by yours truly) I figured, "If he's going to play D&D, let's give him the good stuff."

That's great, Geoffrey! Hopefully you'll be available for the inevitable questions.

D&D. At church. Now I've heard everything! (I kid.) Congrats! I'm sure he will be simultaneously enthralled and confused -- but in a good way, of course.

Don't forget to include a copy of the "Dark Dungeons" Chick tract!
